We don’t normally do public service announcements, but this is a good one.
You may have heard of a group of Saints fans – including a handful on the We Are Perth forum – taking part in a weight loss campaign at McDiarmid Park over the last few months.
That scheme, known as FFIT, is a physical activity and healthy eating programme designed to help men get fitter and lose weight – the programme is free.
The message below is from their organisers – it’s a great scheme, so get involved if you can!
Lose weight, get fitter and get more out of life with St Johnstone FC – Football Fans in Training 2011/12
Following the very successful Football Fans in Training (FFIT) programme at McDiarmaid Park last season, coaches at St Johnstone FC are looking for men who feel a bit out of shape to sign up for the 3 St Johnstone FFIT programmes being run in 2011/12.
Men completing FFIT across the SPL last year lost a total of 1,202 kg in weight and 1,142 cm around their bellies.
St Johnstone supporters can register now for St Johnstone FFIT if they are:
- Male
- 35-65 years
- With a BMI of at least 28 kg/m2
- Or a belly of at least 40 inches/trouser waist size of at least 38 inches
