Last season was one of few goals and much frustration for St Johnstone.
So all those whose loyalties lie at McDiarmid Park will be praying for a vast improvement in our finishing prowess ahead of season 2011/12.
As of today Derek McInnes has had two new players commit to SPL football in Perth – firstly ex-Dundee United midfielder David Robertson and striker Sean Higgins – who was plying his trade at Dundee last term, scoring 15 goals.
But can they cut it at Saints? Here’s hoping.
Of course, we can’t judge them until they’ve pulled on the blue jerseys for a few games, but we can always look back at what they’ve done in the past.
First up, here’s new midfielder David Robertson tenaciously turning home a chance against Rangers for Dundee United.
And here’s Sean Higgins netting a spectacular overhead kick to clinch a 2-1 win for Dundee away at Queen of the South in February 2010.
Let’s hope we see a few of those come the start of the season in mid-July.
