That was one of the best games i have seen in ages high tempo skill movement all over the place total class. Juventus lost the plot a little towards the end but great game anyhow..

how bad must italian football be if Juventus manage to dominate it! they were dyer tonight. never an attacking threat and defensively they were caught out a lot. They're going to have to buck up their ideas if they want to get any further in the champions league!!

I was just about falling asleep up untill just before the first goal.

Aye huv tae admit the "english" continental teams appear tae consist of better continental players than the continental clubs themselves nowadays. Fill me in - which team wiz actually representing GB??? 8)

Even better seeing Sven at the game - perhaps casting an eye over a future job opportunity (at Juve when Capello goes to Real Madrid), because he wasn't looking at players for his World Cup squad! :P

have the commentators stopped saying he was there to checkout players for the england squad? they got into a habbit of saying that when the national manager turned up even when there are no english players!

It also says a lot that Juve only had 4 Italians in their starting line up.

The petulant frenzy by the two that got sent off was something to behold. I half expected Camoranesi to pick the ball up and run up the tunnel in the huff with it. They were beaten fair and square and couldn't handle it.

i dont want to take anything away from arsenals great performance but the sooner that fifa/uefa bring in a rule saying you must have 3 home country players playing the better. these giant clubs are representing themselves in europe and arent representing britain at all anymore - that i feel is a shame

I don't see what the problem is - I have never thought that club teams playing in Europe were representing a particular country - they are representing that country's league. That is why we have national teams that play in the world cup and euro championships.

And, why would you want 'home country players' in the Arsenal team - they are an English club, playing in the English premiership so following the logic of your argument, shouldn't you be asking for 3 *English* players?

Hoyte isn't good enough for Sunderland, never mind Arsenal.

My problem Dooj is that football is becoming totally unrepresentative of anything that interests me any more. I couldn't even work myself up to resenting the fact that an english team might be in with a chance of winning the cup because it's basically a non english playing staff on the pitch. The manager is non-english It's just become a bore - The obvious difference betwee Spanish Italian Portuguese Dutch German based club teams is no longer in evidence - they all play similiarly because most of the teams are full of people from all these nationalities - You get my drift?? It used to be 'Vive La Difference' now there isn't any. in short I'm losing interest it has all become much of a sameness.

Steve McLaren was on TV this morning saying that he wanted Boro to play at the pace they do in the Premiership because European teams aren't used to it. Seems to me that the differences still exist but, IMO, it is probably more to do with where you learn your football and which division you play in than your nationality.

quite frankly if steve mcClaren suggests something, i would be inclined to do the opposite.

i have to agree with indicator, i lose interest in watching all these foreigners play each other. I know i would be the first to want to see my team win regardless of the number of foreigners - i dont blame the clubs for taking advantage of the rules or lack of, i feel that fifa/uefa should step in and say that the 20** comp will require x number of home players in the team, so i'm not moaning at arsenal chelsea or to be honest most of the other premier teams

I watched Benfica vs Barcelona and thought it was one of the best games I'd seen for a long time. Plenty open football and goal mouth incidents. How it was 0-0 I don't know. Barcelona had the central defence missing with their Mexican Marquez (ex Monaco and seen against us) and Puyol out but their replacements were more than useful.

Still undecided who i want to win, as i am a Man Utd fan. Arsenal do deserve to win it, they have be brillant in the champs league with such a young team, and all the effort Henry has put into the club.
