Not long now to our trip to hampden and im guessing tickets will probably go on sale within the next couple of weeks!
It had been mentioned about asking saints for a block booking at hampden (similar to Dundee i guess) so that we can all sit together. Are folk keen for this? If so, how many are planning on going through?
There was also some chat about heading through early, on a mid-afternoon train (half day at work may be needed!), so we can get a few pre-game beers on the go, either in the city centre or at church on the hill. any thoughts on this? Whos in?

Im up for a block booking. Dont know if I'll be able to get a half day though, anyone driving through?
The block booking seems a good idea. Definitely up for the half day that will more than likely also necessitate the next day off as well!

I'll probably go into work at 5 and finish at 1 then take the next day off. It'll let me have a couple of beers.

Block booking would be good. Not sure if I will take a half day or just work from Glasgow then meet in town somewhere. Next day off would probably be a good idea though.
I'm not fussed where we sit although the 'cheap' seats may be where the vocal fans go.

Saints werent keen to take a block booking where i wasnt buying for all the tickets up front. However, a limited number have been reserved in the £22 seats, so just mention youre with Edin Saints when you call up. If we sell the initial block set aside then we can ask for more (or maybe just ask to sit near the block booking), although we have to be confident of selling them all. i.e. they dont want to book 30 seats and then we only sell 15 - they would prefer to sell 15 and then have us ask for another 10 or so if needed.

Just phoned without checking and was politely told that as I no longer have a season ticket I could not apply until the 19th.Could understand it if briefs were tight but I would have thought all sales would be appreciated.

Same for me, they must be worried that season ticket holders will miss out  crazy but nothing more than I expected.
Had a look for potential prices for the train and the cheapest I found was £10.60 on raileasy.com. Seems to give plenty of options for times of travel as well.

Only 2 of the original 15 tickets left. They didn't keep any more tickets near the 15 so Dougie, Barney and I are in Row Y whereas I think you guys are in row F.

I was thinking about the 14:56 from Edinburgh to Glasgow Central which gets in at 16:11, but just getting on the train at Livingston at 15:15. Go for something to eat and a few beers then get a train from Central to Mount Florida. A return for me is only £9.

That sounds a decent plan - those that want a couple extra can head for some in/near Waverley/Haymarket. Return should be about £15 or so if it is a cheap day return.

If you get that train then ill jump on at Uddingston after dropping the car off at Claires.
Otherwise, ill probably just meet you in Glasgow.

I don't think the 14:56 stops at Uddingston Tommy. This train makes 5 stops before Glasgow.
The 14:25 and 15:26 both make 17 stops  including Uddingston I think.
That's one of the reasons I picked the 14:56 so probably better to meet you in Glasgow.

Thinking about getting the 1433 from Haymarket which gets in at 1520 then the 2300 home. £10.70 return on thetrainline.com

I think 1433 sounds like a plan - pub wise, there's the Horsehoe, Iron Horse, Firewater (Sauchiehall St) or for cheap grub/drinks the Weatherspoons (Counting House?) on George Square.
Closer to Hampden, the International could be a shout for meeting up with those who are driving through.
Going to book tickets for the above trains tomorrow then to make sure to get the discount.
In case anyone hasn't seen it, I have an extra ticket as Dougie is now unable to attend. Anyone still needing one?

Horseshoe bar from about half 3 sounds a good place to meet up for cheap food and beer.
Can move to a bar closer to the stadium once folk have arrived on their various trains!

The Mercat have a deal on food at the moment with all lunches £5 from 12.30-2.30 so that could be a good way to start of the day!!
