Anyone know somone that does light removals and doesn't charge a fortune ?

If not, anyone have a van and can spare a few hours this Friday to carry a few items of furniture up 3 flights of stairs ?

If not, anyone want to hire a van, and carry furniture up 3 flights of stairs and I'll pay for the van and your time (rate to be negotiated !)

Sorry Sheffield couldn't resist - I am sure somebody on here was advertising their van and services a while back, may well be worth a quick search.

The furniture is really just ready to be binned to be honest. The sofas were a hand down to me 14 years ago when I bought the flat. Need I say more !!

I'll check with the council on Monday and see if they collect, otherwise I'll order a skip.

The council will come for them but it will cost you something like £20/£25 for up to 3 items.

Thanks Ziggy, that'll still be cheaper than a skip, so I'll give them a call Mon.

Just checked, it's £24.40 for up to 5 items. Special uplift (http://www.pkc.gov.uk/Planning+and+the+environment/Waste+and+recycling/Household+waste/Special+Uplift+for+bulky+items.htm).

If anybody has a trailer you could borrow, I could happily hook-up and take the stuff to the skip for you.
