I bloody missed the highlights on scotsport, so i missed the penalty incidentS, can anyone say wheather any of them were pens? From the east stand i thought Jason's first was a pen, and the handball, wheather it was inside the box or not i don't know......?

From watching scotsport, the first one on Scotland, despite me being convinced at the time, probably wasn't a pen. Their player got the ball with the tackle, and it could be argued that he was holding Scotland back but the tackle was a fair one. Again the second tackle on Scotland was a good one, but the handball was blatant! It was clearly outside the box though, but Dobbie would have been clean through on goal so it probably would have been a red card too.
Nevertheless we had enough chances to win at the end. Dobbie should have passed to rather than shot straight at the keeper, and Scotland's miss was criminal.

its been the same for most of the season though, we create so many chances but fail to take them......i thought the point in us getting such a stroung stike force was that they would put the ball in the back of the net when the chances were staring them in the face.

......i also think dobbie needs a run in the team, i think he looks well short of match practice, the way forward is to get the dobbie/savo partnership back togeter and possibly put jason in behind.........i think a change upfront is needed anyway, if we are to take anything from this season.

or if the midfielders could get the ball more and pull the defenders wide a little bit and hook the ball in and have a chance :***:

If players can have bad days then so can refs and this was one of his
Bad for both teams
Vote for his "performance" on the temple if you feel so strong about it

Almost all referees in scotland are a joke at times, theyre just not good enough, how many scottish referees have been at euro and world cup finals since their birth?

First of all, I certainly am not blaming the ref for not winning the game - that is why we have the strikeforce we have to take advantage of some gilt-edged chances.
It was certainly not a penalty when Scotland went down at the Ormond end of the ground - the shirt pull (and I use that term loosely) was minimal and the sliding tackle was as clean as you like. As for the handball, I did not believe it to be deliberate at the time and I still don't think it was after watching the TV.
The ref weren't too bad - a couple of bookings were rather soft under the pretenses of persistent fouling but, then again, Clyde should have had a few more booked for their time-wasting and cynical tackling.
As for Coyle - he is a liability if he is going to bring himself on for the last 5 minutes and spend half of that time chasing a ref around the park!

I seem to remember he was like that as a player always moaning at the ref i also seem to rember that if you gave the ball to him in the box he would punish you some things change some things dont

Ref`s union at work again Chopper. The ref was poor & the linesmen seemed to changet the rules they were going by at half time especially the East stand guy .In the first half his flag was never down & in the second it never went up.Was he the Forfar guy Chopper. Stand side linesman gave Scotland offside in the second half even though he was a yard on & the linesman was looking right past the defender.
The standard of officials is really poor at the moment but if we didn`t have them the game would die.Consistancy is all we ask. Sheridan was booked for a similar tackle that we were looking for a penelty for.

The East Stand linesman was the Forfar guy.
No ref's union at work here either - admittedly he got a few decisions wrong, but his overall game was gernerally OK.

...and surprise surprise you are the only one who thinks so - he was totally inept, constantly failed to keep up with play, his only consistency was his inconsistency

Does anyone agree that he was okay?
He was honking and the discussion the BBC site was very much the same, from both sets of fans...

I think he made some bad decisions, but I don't think he was as bad as some are making out. To be honest though, when I watch a game I don't really notice the ref all that much. I've never really been able to get worked up about refereeing decisions - the fact that the refs are only human and will make mistakes is just a part of the sport and it's not worth dwelling on. I'm more concerned with how we're playing - it wasn't the ref's fault that we didn't win on Saturday, it was Saints'.

I don't usually blame a referee, though, he has to take some blame when not letting us have a couple of clear opportunities, the main issue I have with him, was his total incompetence... he got so little right it was unreal...

I was more concerned with the Assistant Referee on the West Stand side, he missed so much and could have awarded the second penalty quite easily, along with a lot of other decisions that, obviously, upset OC

What second penalty???
I can only recall the incident with Scotland being slide tackled - fairly can I add - and the handball being outside the box (albeit not deliberate so therefore not being a foul).

For a team getting beat! I blame them for ruining games of football though.

[What second penalty??? quote]
Scotland was brought down on the edge of the box. Many refs might have given after failing to give the first one! I thought he was outside but it was close.
The problem with the ref was obvous from when he gave a corner at the start of the game. He came over, marked time and then pointed! Basically he was the star lest we forget  [/quote]

to be honest the ref was crap on saturday but we never really deserved any more than a point. we were truly awful. we have a team of experienced players who seem to have no desire, sheerin is back to his bad old self, anderson had a stinker on saturday, jason does nowhere near enough hard work etc etc.
