Stevie May. Ran for the whole time he was playing, looked lively and threatening. Sammy, Doobs, Millar, Muzz deserve mentions. Thought Jody was poor, and Liam didnt do much to stand out. Great win though.

Real hard selection tonight. Doobs was immense in the air, May had a great full debut, Morris was excellent and Sammy worked his socks off..but and I may be alone in this but I don't care, my vote is going to Danny Grainger who exorcised the demons of the hounding Humphreys gave him at fir park.. Anyone who was there that night will know exacly what I am talking about..
Well done Danny Grainger...:D

Agree with this. Thought grainger did brilliantly. Fair play to liam Craig for helping out by doubling up as well.

Sammy for me, worked hard for himself and the team today, really determined performance from him and linked well with May.

Doobs for me - Ando played well but has to stop giving away needless free kicks in dangerous positions. May had a really good debut (in the starting line up) and he looks like fantastic prospect. Craig had a bit of a thankless task - had to play deep to help Grainger against Humphrey. He got a lot of needless stick from the fans. We still need our forwards to start scoring - but this was a much improved performance.

Close call between Sammie and May for me. The two linked up brilliantly together.

Doobs for me. He was immense & also won the pen but not sure what for. Did the ref get told at HT that May was fouled when he booked him ?.
Muzz was great in midfield & won every tackle & header though the ref let him away with a few that some refs would have given fouls for.
May & Sammy great up front & Ando had another good game.

Doobs, Ando, Sammy and May the contenders for me.
Gonna go for Ando again....his positional awareness is superb and we would be in big trouble if we lost his pace at the back.
As somebody has previously said, it is funny how different people see different things. I thought Jody looked well out of sorts and gave away the ball a lot more than we are used to. Wee Chris to me was not good either....no end product and he looks like he has no belief that he is going to get past the full back or is going to score when he has an opportunity - however, he still works really hard and covers back and I find it hard to ever really get a downer on him.

Torn between Doobs, Ando and Stevie May.May had a great Debut and was unlucky not to score.Doobs was solid, as ever!!But Steven Anderson has really won me over!!Yes i did sat that, ive been one of his biggest criticts in the past , but he really was excellent tonight, and credit where credit is due, he deserves it .Doobs has really improved his game, the two of them lok stick on's every week for centre half positions.

Doobs, Anderson, May and Samuel were the four best players on the park tonight. But I'll go with Colin for this one, a very hard working performance that we need to see more of.

Sammy for me. Won loads in the air, held the ball up well and didn't give their defenders a moments peace.
He never really got a sniff of goal, but his energy and ball winning ability, played a great part in this result.

Doobs is becoming a legend. Ando was fantastic again as was May. Gave it to Doobs

Take a bow son. Stevie May.
Exactly what we needed last night. Enthusiasm and confidence in abundence.

Stevie May. Anyone who tries to take on their team, dribble and shoot from a kick off is ok in my book. Confident, direct, skillfull and pacey - hopefully if used correctly we have a potentially good player on our hands.
One negative was him feigning injury in the first half - need to knock that type of behaviour on its head. I'm positive that's why he ended up being booked for diving (I thought it was a pen) but referees notice that type of thing and you don't want to earn a reputation for it.

Stevie May for me - looks like Carlos Puyol, didn't give a monkeys about the opposition and showed the sort of fight and hunger we've been looking for. Plenty of good performers though- Sammy had a good shift, Jody and Muzz were excellent in the middle and Ando solid at the back.

Five candidates for me last night. Anderson, Grainger, Davidson and the two strikers.
Ando was excellent again whilst Grainger deserves huge credit for the way he handled a player who has hurt him in the past. Davidson had possibly his best game on the season I felt, crashing into tackles and headers and getting up to support the strikers. Like the Davidson of last season. Samuel really stepped up to the plate and had one of his better games too. Great hold up play and knew he was going to need to act as the target man. May gave us that spark we've maybe been missing and seemed to lift both the other players and the support. Great decision by McInnes to start him.
As tempted as I am to go for Grainger, going to go with May.

I hadn't thought May was ready for a start, and stated that I would have been more into playing him for a good half hour at the end of a game first.
Delighted to admit, based on last night, that I was wrong. You have hit it on the head with your point that he seemed to create a spark that ignited those around him

Samuel for me,based purely on his work rate and determination only wish he could stay on his feet a little more talking of which did young Mr May have his Speedos on under his shorts last night?Haven't seen much of the lad but please tell me he's not from the same mould as that wee runt Parker who had the knack of hitting the deck when in the box on a regular basis.

Mentioned the Parker thing at the game, but I'm hoping it was a one off from young May

Ando for me, it's amazing what a decent regular partner will do for a player, giving them confidence and stability so on. It reminds me of Kernagan's influence on Dods earlier in his career.
Stevie May was also good, very direct and I'd personally (IMHO), start him at Tynecastle alongside Sammy, but I'll trust Del as he's the boss.

Sammy for me. Looked sharp & back to his best. However May, Doobs, Ando & Miller all put in good performances.
