I might no a couple of people who are interested in the social side of things. How quickly do you need to know numbers for booking minibus/accomodation?
Put me down for it. Might be a while before I can afford the

Don't use pound signs, that's what cuts the message for some reason??
Burn - how are we looking for this in terms of those that have paid etc? Cheers.

The following people have paid 25notes

Jinky (Dobber)
Captain Kev
Spew

There will still be accomodation and travel to pay and will get back to you on that . Accomodation is closer to the time and was going to look at minibus hire once we have a better idea how many are going.

I've just noticed those dates are wrong - the Friday is the 21st not the 19th. I assume it's happening Friday 21st-Sunday 23rd?
Correct - Worldnet is taking place Friday July 21st - Sunday July 23rd. We will travel down on the Friday; Burn is looking into this.
Al and Nips are correct well done.
Looking to get this underway again. Was speaking to Dougy from Airdrie, not to be confused with Spew of Carluke, who advised that they usually get to Worldnet for about 100 quid a man.
I will be arranging a bus with G and Brian having volunteered to drive. I will also be able to help out if required.
Might also get some t-shirts
So far the following have paid 25 quid
Al
G
Me
Heller
Nips
Jinky
BJ
Rocket
Spew
Interested
Elvis
Wanky not sure he knows this yet but will work on it.
Scoop of feet and head notoriety may be joining us.
Al's mate Sharky of wigan/feldy fame another I am not sure is aware of this.
Anyone else.
Was thinking another payment of 25 pounds end feb/beginning of march might be an idea to spread the cost?
Any questions?
I have a question - can we all chip in an extra fiver to get Scoop some odour eaters for his shoes before we go? It'll be worth the money especially if we're sharing a minibus wi him.
Very possible Kevin will investigate closer to the time . It has also come to my attention that as the proud owner of 3 points I might not be able to drive a hire bus. Any more volunteers for this?

Thought I was driving down and BJ (?) on the way back. Im well up for it. Spew is navigating.

Well used to international travel is the Spew living in Carluke; that is at least three time zones away.
Think BJ agreed to drive back and G on the way down. That will do for me!!
Not spoke to Sharkey yet; would prefer it if we got a full squad of PSJ boys so will leave it a wee bit. If we are struggling then I will give him a shout.

Who is looking for a game? Just arrange it if you can, don't think Jinky will have anything sorted as he can't get online at the moment. If game is not a goer then I will try Airdrie as apparently they are looking for a game against anyone and I would not object to playing them again so close if they didn't.

I can confirm that we have transport booked, which will cost 30 notes each at the most... not bad for Friday to Monday, all journeys (except the drunken ones). It's a 15 seater, so first 15 to pay a deposit are the squad.
Seems like it is Al, G, Woody, Heller, Nips, Jinky, BJ, Rocket, Spew, Elvis & Scoop.
Stevie Geezer, Wanky & Sharkey may make the numbers up to 14.
Anyone else?
It is a 16 seater bus so get in quick boys!!

Woody should shortly be providing an update on who's paid what...
Ladies, a dosh up for worldnet.
The following people have given me the following amount.
Niall Walker -- 50
Al Christie -- 50
Kevin Heller -- 50
Burn -- 25
G -- 25
Spew --25
Rocket -- 25
Jinky -- 25
BJ -- 25
N-Head -- 50
Total -- 350 however 200 entry fee has been paid therefore I have 150 here which I promise I wont spend in "casino".
If everyone can get up to 50 by say the end of feb we are well on our way .
Accomodation should be announced soon so we can get a better picture of how much this will ultimatley cost.
Any questions? good as I would probably ignore you.
I will be bringing the rest of my money along this Saturday. All those PSJ related people - if you have not already stated an interest in this trip I suggest you do so now. PSJ european adventures are not to be missed!!
Burn will be providing an update with regards to WorldNet in the near future. Watch this space; he will probably be asking for some money off people so just to make you all aware.
Think we need a definite decision on how much and when here so that folk know what they have to provide and also so can let Sharkey/Pink know what is going on.
To date the following have indicated they will attend WorldNet; Burn, Al, Spew, G, Kev, Elvis, Bee J, Nips, Jinky, Scoop, Sharkey, Rocket and Geezer. May have missed someone out but the more folk we can get to go the cheaper it will be. Also hopefully fundraising will have some effect on the cost.
Should be a superb trip and we have not been on one for a while, everyone is strongly urged to attend if they can!!
Stuff that needs to be finalised is cost, travel arrangements, accommodation. Ideally we will be staying on site on the Leeds Uni campus. Does anything need to be done to confirm this?
Any more information on this?

Burn can you provide an update so that folk know what is happening? Cheers.
Stuff that needs to be finalised is cost, travel arrangements, accommodation. Ideally we will be staying on site on the Leeds Uni campus. Does anything need to be done to confirm this?
What about an answer to this first?
We have confirmed that we are wanting to stay on the campus and numbers are to be provided closer to the time.
Approx cost is £120 however this will go down if we can get more people to say they are going and there is a portion to be refunded as long as you dont break anything and I mean anything.
So if you have not already indicated you want to go, can you please do so now.
Ok. So...
Cost - 120 quid each maximum which includes 2 nights accommodation, your travel there and back and entry fee.
Travel Arrangements - included in cost and journey will be a cracking start to a memorable weekend.
Accommodation - again included in cost and has been booked.
Bearing in mind that this is the maximum cost, this seems like superb value for a weekend away playing football, representing Saints on the world stage. We are still unbeaten in European competition so get on board and help to continue this proud record.
11 confirmed - So still five places left!!
Lock up your shot glasses!? Mackie wants one of the remaining 5 places!

A reminder that we all need to be up to £75 ASAP else you are kipping in the bus.
Saturday would an ideal time to give me money and it would be appreciated.
WorldNet is getting closer and closer and in order for Burn to be able to plan for this appropriately he needs the £75 from those that are going as soon as possible. Tomorrow would be ideal for those that are playing and most should have just been paid as well. Don't worry, there will be no sweep to worry about tomorrow :***:
Others should make their own arrangements with him as soon as they can.
Part of the fund raising effort has been stepped up recently is in relation to WorldNet so the more money that can be raised the better for everyone concerned. Money raised will also go to club funds and will be needed for us to operate next season. Therefore get selling predictors!! Cheers.
For those that have not already paid Burn what is needed (£75) please PM him as soon as possible to arrange something. The accomodation needs to be paid up in the near future.
Burn - how are we looking money wise for this now?

Good stuff - think that gives us a full complement - 15. Good work team!!
Discounting any assistance from Club funds, probably need about £30 (once £75 is paid)more to finalise this trip beer can be purchased from a kitty on the day. Therefore get those predictors sold and hopefully bring this cost down.
Just to clarify as I was getting them impression people thought £75 was the final cost, still need to cover transport which sharkey is excluded from. This does not require any gums to be bumped G!!
I'm still hoping to get up to Leeds for the weekend, but wont know until just before. Is it still ok for me to say last minute?

Depends where the minibus is but if you take a couple of cars from Perth can leave them at Scoop's work, he works in car showroom so will be safe. Reckon we should be aiming to be down there for early evening time at the latest, make the most of the weekend!!

Good morning from a wet and blustery West Yorkshire.
Barring an accident to the four participants, the draw for Worldnet
2006
will take place this evening at the Brown Cow Hotel, Wyke, Bradford.
The draw will be made by the following people who will pull one team
out of
the bag for each of the 16 groups.
Malcolm Butterfield - Worldnet Senior Pitch Co-ordinator
Julie Varley - Worldnet Pitch Co-ordinator
John Boocock - IFA Exec
Roger Goodair - Worldnet Fixturemeister and draw fixer!!
Anyone in the area is welcome to drop in for a pint and watch
proceedings.
Moving on to accommodation, I've now received deposit cheques or
electronic
transfers from the following teams:
Aberdeen
Bury

Grimsby
Hearts B (spreadsheet still required)
Oxford
St Johnstone -- Look I didn't spend your money of beer!!!!

this requires everyone to be paid up to £75. Jinky and Dougie can you contact me asap to get this paid and can someone contact wonka.
failure to comply will seriously annoy me and possibly require a loan from club funds.

Those that need to get their money to Burn asap. Everyone should have paid £75, it is only fair if folk have all paid the same.
Club funds will come into it later, the cost is £75 minimum at the moment so get money to Burn if you need to.

PRESS RELEASE
for immediate use
21st June 2006
FANS TOURNAMENT KICKS OFF
Over the weekend of 22/23rd July more than a thousand football supporters will play
in WorldNET06 - the Sports Interactive Cup in Leeds.
Organised by the Internet Football Association, this is the 11th annual tournament
which was first staged in 1996 at the time of Euro96.
Sixty four teams from all the Scottish and English senior divisions as well as
visitors from RC Lens in France and Italy's Inter Milan will vie for the Sports
Interactive Cup over the two days.
The venue is the University of Leeds' Bodington Hall where eight pitches will see a
group stage on Saturday and a sudden death knock-out on Sunday.
In previous years the tournament winners have been fans from QPR, Glasgow Celtic
and most recently Rotherham.
The tournament is sponsored by Sports Interactive the creators of The
Championship Manager Series.
During the domestic season the IFA IFA members, who draw their players from
internet football mailing lists and message boards, play in the IFA league. Their
matches are normally played in advance of their “big” teams.
John Boocock, one of the organisers of WorldNET06 says: “Although the
competition to win the Sports Interactive Trophy is always quite strong, IFA football
is not about winning, it's about building bridges between rival groups of
supporters”.
“We've been doing this for eleven years now and more and more supporters are
joining in from Conference teams to the Premierships of both Scotland and
England”.

Bus we are going in does not have a CD player but Wonka is going to bring a lead to connect to the tape deck or something that could be attached to a portable CD player.
Does anybody have a portable CD player effort that they could bring with them? Need the tunes for the way doon!!!
I've got a tape adaptor that I can plug me MP3 player (or anyones mp3 player) into, i could bring that if you want?
jinky has an Ipod thing. will that fit the adaptor?

Beej - was meaning to ask you - Stone Cold v Chuck Norris, who would win?
Cheers to all at PSJ who attended the trip to Leeds - am sure everyone will agree with me that it was excellent crack and hopefully we can attend again next year. Too many highlights to mention here, banter overall was superb though and think we were very well received by the other teams there.
On the field was less important but thought we were actually quite good on the Saturday and unlucky not to qualify for the main comp. Played some good football at times and a break of the ball here or there might have helped us. We did well to even get up and ready on the Sunday so losing to Vale of Leven was no great surprise.
Special thanks to the following people;
Kev - for the thankless task of driving the bus there and back. Never easy, espcially on the way back but the Captain stuck to it manfully. He made up for his lack of drinking once we arrived and also forged good links with other teams that we can follow up. His insistence on waving his pants about was less welcome.
Beej - for paying the hefty deposit on the bus. Hope you got it back!! Also for keeping Stone Cold in line by burying him under the bags on the way home.
G - for all his work with fundraising etc that has made the trip a lot cheaper than it might have been. We even had the added bonus of nobody spewing (or admitting to it anyway) so that sweep went to club funds!! G's choice of clothing also amused people but he did win the pun of the weekend competition, putting the Gaffer and Pink in the shade.
Burn - for all his work basically orgainising the trip to Leeds, many a cross word exhanged with me but he pulled it out the bag and everything went smoothly so well done to him. Less impressive was his continuiously on display stomach but you can't have everything.
Nips - for being a Nipple as usual and for refraining to chant "Newsbeat" all that often over the weekend!!
Jinky - for providing the "entertainment" on the way down. And way back. And during the weekend.
Pink - for his usual exploits off the field such as upsetting Burn. Only one goal from a bizarre angle, plenty of shots though.
Rodge - top scorer!!!
Shark - for amusing use of the word internet.
Elvis - biscuits!!!
Wonka - some boy!! Enjoy him while you can, he will be on stage somewhere soon!!
Spew - "I will play it to feet"
Geezer - A surprise contender in the punathons, still a lot to learn though. Cafu esque performance at right back may land him permanent role.
Nice one. Next games are Sat 5th and Sun 6th August @ Falkirk and Queens Park respectively. See seperate thread.
Cheers
Al
