yeah i know, but we have been in this posistion before, we all stressed how important it was to get a good start, and IMO we haven' tdone this, seeing as we are what potentially 10 points off top, i don't know if we have the capability of catchin them, considering St. Mirren don't look like they will slip up too often..........

.....still the harsh weather to come, we'll see how their squad copes with that, fingers are still crossed!!!

The 1 thing i hate, eversince we were relagated is that whenever we win a game its described as a ' turning point ' but always turn into a false dawn

As every week goes by its looking better and better for "our friends" from Paisley

As for next season if we don't turn it around it could be very interesting . Possibly be between us, Dunfermline and Gretna.

Gretna will be cashed up

Whether there squad is good enough to win it is another thing

Whats the gretna stadium like, I have never been there before?

Hopefully they will.

They have a good squad together IMO. They have a strong defence who work together and are a solid unit, and with Broadfoot and his mazy runs as a bonus. They have a bit of quality in John Sutton upfront. Kean's shite though, i do not rate him at all - he just seems to be in the right place at the right time all the time!

When injuries hit them it will push them, but one thing you can see they have his TEAM spirit and the fact that they are out on the pitch for each other, not themselves. Something i think we sometimes lack. Not so much this season but the past few seasons.

Don't know about anyone else but I don't think so.

This year is still close - as I said on the mailing list we have a good run of games playing against the bottom 3 followed up by St. Mirren away. 4 wins are required to get back in the race but don't worry, St. Mirren's injury and suspension problems will happen soon.

Hazel is that not the sign of a great striker :?:

But i do agree with you on the point that there troubles are yet to come. They have not got the lead Falkirk had and they have nothing like the scoring prowess of Falkirk. Give them some freezing Saturdays like we had just there and the knocks will tell and when the ground gets hard and they throw the sand down to get there games on so they dont hit cash flow difficulties thats when it will tell. However we will have to improve ten fold or we will also be left behind.

St Mirren have obviously been the best team in the league so far, but I think it's inevitable that they'll go through a dip in form at some stage. The thing is though, it won't make any difference to Saints unless we can at least be there snapping at their heels so that, when they do slip up, we're there to capitalise. So it's really our own form that matters rather than St Mirren's. If we can play to our full ability every week we'll win the league, but I don't think at the moment that Coyle has the managerial experience to get that sort of consistency out of his team. He's still learning, and there's nothing wrong with that, but it does mean he's going to make (and has already made) mistakes which, this season at least, will probably make it very difficult for us to get promoted.

I have stated before that we have to get out of this league this season as I think Gretna will walk it next season. They have a good team at the moment with quite a few seasoned pro`s & with the money they have available they with stregthen even further as they can offer the wages that even spl teams can`t match.

I am amazed that everyone seems to think that St Mirren are some how going to fall apart, get major injuries and then fall down the table

The rest of the league are failing to put them under any presure and while I have not given up its not looking too good for us

As for next year, lets see how much Gretna do spend

Presumably Gretna will have to splash the cash on building a new stadium if they have plans to go up...

Quite what a town of 4000 people need a 6000 seater stadium for is another matter and quite what gretna bring to the game is also questionable....

Not everyone thinks that... but I do believe, as happens to nearly every team, they will have a dip in form and be affected by injuries to key players... I'm hoping we've had our dip, and we pretty soon get on the run we need to start striking fear into other teams, including a not so confident St Mirren side. It's not that outragous (well the bit about St Mirren anyway!)

Gretna have a 'growth plan' and it involves getting the stadium up to standard for the SPL by the end of next season. As to the numbers, there are free buses running from Carlisle every home game......

Tight and compact wee ground, not bad from a spectators point of view.

like a few have said before, they'll have their bad spell but its up to us to stay in touch. our next four games are vital for us. hopefully accies can do the biz at paisley on saturday. we need to win our next 3 IMO before we go to paisley

cant really st.moron keeping their run going tbh, but i am afraid we will not be good enough to capatilise anyway, we have no consistency whatsoever and there are too many players getting away with putting in inept performances week on week.
