The Sun have a bit in today saying taht Geoff Brown is blasting PKDC for using their internal mail system to promote a coaching course being run by Celtic.

Very strange given that AKAIK the Council pay a %age of Atholl Henderson's wages to run courses in the area. Any of the Council staff know anything about htis,

It was on the front of the PA yesterday. Chairman Broon was in a rage about it - Celtic were running a training school in Perthshire, as they do, and asked Perth & Kinross Leisure (not the Council, it's a separate company - although mostly Council funded) if they could help to promote it.

PKL - rightly or wrongly - said that it was their remit to help kids in Perthshire with sports, whoever organises them - and distributed the leaflets.

This is a far worse thing than the PA's little Rangers photo earlier this year, IMHO. You don't have to buy the PA but you do have to pay your Council Tax...

no matter what , the local authorities and their contractors etc should never promote anyone other than st.johnstone.

From what I'm aware council funds have not been used - I would have assumed it was Celtic that paid for the leaflets and whatever, the ****cul merely helped them promote it by letting them use the internal mailing system.

Not defending it at all, I'm as p'd off as anyone else about it but I'm just a pedantic b*****d! :wink:

This is exactly the same as the PA incident about a year ago. Local council should be promoting local events, not west coast events. I am behind Geoff 100%.
