What were they on?
Main Stand lines man - does he know what the word offside means? On at least two occasions he failed to keep up with play which therefore meant he couldn't get a good view of the situation, and allowed play to continue when the Queens man was at least 2-3 yards offside.
Referee - Whistle happy, didn't seem to really have much idea as to what he was doing.
Surely the worst collective officiating performance of the season? Quite amusing, really. :***:

Remember that because he is in an ofside position, he does not have to put his flag up. He only puts his flag up if the player makes an effort to get the ball.
Personally i thought the ref + co were ok today , wasn't shouting at them much today, so they must have done ok!!

That's a good point Mainstand....It's one of my bugbears when I'm watching football these days. The offside law has changed a wee bit and fans start screaming that the linesman was late with his flag. The law was changed to keep the game flowing a bit more and to be fair, I think it works.

The two offsides that Sam was on about were clear offsides & nothing to do with waiting to see if the player was interfering with play etc.
Richmond was a joke as usual & got few decisions right.

I was about to question what game I must've been at today. Of course, you are right. Clear offsides.
I thought Richmond was poor today, and his only saving grace was that he - as Kev points out - refrained from waving cards around. Credit where it's due for that but he did very little else with any sort of competency.
god  we got tree points. And we have all seen worse refereez and linesman so i dont care.tree pointz.

But did the player take advantage of his position, unless he did then the flag won't go up.

The ref and linesman were good today - no complaints about many of the decisions today.
It really pisses me off when folk come on to boards like this without the first clue as to what decisions should be made. The player can only be given offside if he is interfering with that phase of play by being in that position (ie touching the ball or opponent) and on the occasions I believe Sam and Cagey are talking about, 1 at best wold have been classed as offside.
As for being whistle happy - what do you want the ref to do? Shout out so only the players can hear the foul rather than blow the whistle? If players are going to commit fouls, as is to be expected from sides at the bottom playing sides at the top as it disrupts their rhythm and flow of play, should the referee not give them?

t would appear that I seldom agree with SS, but on this occasion I have to back her up. On both occasions the QOS player made an attempt for the ball and one of them won the ball and could easily have delivered a quality cross after being allowed at least a 2 to 3 yard start over the last line of the Saints defence. Richmond was his usual inept self giving free kicks for innocous chalenges and then letting Bowey dive in two footed on several occasions without onne awarding a free kick against him.

I was getting updates from the sky sports and live scores site's and every game finished atleast 10 to 15 minutes before us, did we play that much stoppage time, as it took for ages for both skysports and live scores to post the full time score?

Having been to games in Scotland and England this season and watched matches on TV, referees appear to be having a difficult season with interpreting the offside directives they have to follow. I felt that the elderly, fat, east stand linesman was a bit off the pace and Richmond was not talking to players which good referees do.

I left on 90 mins when I thoght the game was over at 2-0 & got home 15 mins later to find the score 2-1 on BBC & still not coming up as a final result.
I was sh==ing myself. The ref must have allowed a lot more stoppage time in the second half when there was no stoppages than he did in the first half(none) when La Freak was injured.

He added just short of 3 minutes stoppage time Cagey - about right for the subbies and 2 goals as their goal was scored before injury time had started (I know that as I was checking the watch to see how long we would be sh!tting ourselves for!!!)

I thought the officials were just poor today, which is better than quite often, but for Chopper to argue offside decisions given at the far end of the park is a tad silly!!!
Chopper, you are a referee and as such will try to defend them, but at least save it for things you can have a reasonable view on, as you are watering done the few times you have a good point to make on the matter.

I wasn't defending the ref and linesman over the offsides, I was merely pointing out the player has to be active (ie touching the ball) to be deemed offside and from what I remembered there was one incident that looked dubious (hence why I think Sam etc were referring to it) and the second time the player was coming back and didn't interfere with that phase of play - not giving a definitive yes or no as you quite rightly point out, I was not in the best position at the other end of the stand :!:
