Hope plenty of you get along to the above game at McDiarmid Park on Sunday 18 December 2005 1.00pm kick off.
Celtic are well clear in the SPL 19s at present but if saints boys can show the same character and determination they showed against Dunfermline in the last round they could give Celtic a fright.

Will be going up - the Under 19s have been doing so so this season!
McCallum and Doreen are players, as is Johnny Black. McManus and Moon play well together in midfield and Dyer's performances were awful at the start of the season but i think the last few games he's been improving!
What was their score against EIO Airdrie yesterday?

They won (i think 4-1), and the under 17s lost.
I may be wrong or have this the wrong way about.
I will recify later if it's wrong.
As for next Sunday it would be nice to see a decent crowd for the young lads. The whole Campbell/Barnett clan are coming along, kids in all!!! :***: :***:

I won't be in attendance unfortunately, due to officiating in Auchterarder this weekend. However, should those games be postponed I will pop along.
It will be a big test for those youngsters and I am sure there will be the usual Perth Micks who turn up to see their "local" side do well

The 19S have faltered this season mainly due to high level of injuries to their more experienced players. This led to teams partly made up from the 17s taking on oppostion more than two years older.I think playing at their best at full strength they play good quality footbal.
BTW, they beat Airdrie 3-1 yesterday

Yes i do agree with this - at points over the season so far we have had at least 4 main players for the team missing, and only in recent games has there been a better squad!
We've had a combination of any of this lot out: Moon, McManus, Black, Deery, Hutton (dropped for a few weeks!), Doris, McCallum out at one point and the squad been made up of Under17s who aren't good enough (yet!). And obviously Jacko going oot tae Cowdenbeth - but he's always there supporting the lads!! :D
Second half of the season could see us losing some of these players to loan deals - i'd expect McManus, Dyer and Jackson to go out on loan. Possibly Mooner depending on his feedback from his specialist! And start of next season will see McCallum, Doreen etc go out!
Did Johnny Black play yesterday eksaint?

I think the team are definitely most creative with Moon and McManus in midfield but Mooner's ongoing injury problem has hampered this. The team looked a bit rusty yesterday against Airdrie as it was the first game for a few of them in a while. They did dominate in the second half and should have finished the game more comfortably.
Best for saints were Stevie McManus in midfield, Mark Gallagher in defence and Johnnie Black did better when moved back to defence from midfield.Stevie Doris put in his usual shift upfront.

Blacky is far better when he is pushing forward - he has lots to offer a team and gives them width! It's a credit to Stevie how much effort he puts into a game as it is probably alot harder for him playing in an Under 19s match than a first team match as it's much more physical! As long as he keeps plugging away i can see him getting his chance soon.

I agree Blackie is good going forward as a wing back in a 3 5 2. But yesterday he switched to left back in a 4 4 2 and linked up well with Gallagher down the left.
I think team was Hutton, Deery, McCafferty,Dyer, Gallagher, Black, Barr, McManus, McCallum, Doris and Fox

Fox :***: :***:
That's a fairly strong side for us, with only around being Under 17 i think!
Hopefully a few more will eb involved tomoz night too...i expect Black, McCallum/Doris to be on the bench at least. And McManus and Dyer to be playing!

I take it , it was too expensive to put on the heating
Gannochy 17's managed to play at North Muirton today. Do our stands creat frost traps ?

They shouldn't - I imagine with McDiarmid being higher and further away from the water, that frost would affect it more than North Muirton.

Hope your pitch was better than the Inches then - Nuggets has f**ked both knees today playing on such hard pitches.
Our pitch was like an ice rink at first, I couldn't get very much grip at all, but it started to rain, which sofended(sp) it up.

I think there was more chance of the other teams behaviour causing the game to be called off than the pitch at the end of the game
Due to Church duties I got there just as the game kicked off and it did sound very hard. To be honest I am not sure if it should have started but the ref is always correct , just ask chopper ! :***: so it must have been playable
