Ok I should have got to the game earlier but it took me over 10 minutes to get in yesterday with long queues outside so I missed the kick off, yet there was not a large crowd

Some turnstiles were not working, Why ?

Thank for letting me know

That fits in with what a programme seller also said to me today

It was like a skating rink in between the seats

Afraid to say it was a complete shambles on Saturday.

They had used kitchen salt to melt the ice, which of course turned to slippy mush. They then had to get a barrow load of soft sand to chuck over it. Excuse was that they could not get hold of any rock salt due to excess demands. They have only had since Feb/March or whenever the last cold snap happened to get in a new stock

Must admit, for once I felt sorry (only almost :***: ) for the stewrds having to take the brunt of the complaints.

It was not fans turning up late to blame, as it has been in the past, so the club/polis should have delayed kick-off!

It amazed me how many people were waiting at the first and second turnstile when the end one had no queue at all. It's only 100 yards people!!!

That's the problem though - we were queued at the end one (the North end) but one of the turnstiles was jammed and the queues were not being cleared. It was pretty even between the 4 sections of turnstiles along the East Stand around 2.50-2.55pm.

Perhaps the Turnstile Leader, Watty, can confirn all this malarkey for us!

I think the ref may have refused the delay, can't be certain but he seemed in a big hurry to get the match finished, even started the 2nd half early.....

That's fair enough Chopper but I arrived between ten and five to three, passed hundreds of fans at the turnstiles and waited no more than thirty seconds at the end turnstile. It needed a bit of communication from the Polis/Stewards and a bit if common sense from the Saints.

Were the queues not mainly for the season ticket holders at teh first turnstiles?

Was the delays due purely to the ice or had something else happened, when we turned up there was an ambulance coming down and the stewards were flaffing abou a bit.

All a bit strange that they opened the stand in that condition. It would have been a lot safer to have put everyone into the mainstand.

I arrived at that time and also walked to the end turnstile and had to wait a good 5 minutes to get in

Well the turnstiles didnae open till about 2.35pm, cos the Polis were considering putting the game off, giving a pretty limited time to get the usual trickle of Saintees in, first 2 turnies are the main season ticket ones, although you wud've been able to get in at any turnie with your season like any other week.

Like you say Chopsy, one of the turnie's at the double dunter at the North End of the East Stand went tits up about 5 mins before 3pm, giving not enough time to have it fixed prior to kick off. Maybe it would of been good to get a picture of real queues forming outside the East Stand, god knows the last time that happened.

Yours Faithfully Turnstile Leader :***:

I think yangus might have clicked the button the re-orders the forum so it shows the oldest post first. Hence the timely input into a two and a bit year old topic.
