Was just down at McDiarmid Park and a wee match caught me eye.

It was a Saints under 11, 7-a-side team playing against a local under 12 team. On watching a discovered there was an 8 year old and a 9 year old playing for the saints side.

They won 8-0. ( I think, lost count to be honest) If this is the future, it's looking pretty bright :D

Coaches there were Tommy Campbell and Davie Black- I think not too familiar with the youth coaches.

Best go and get the tea or it will be in the dog

Davie is the guy who organises the half-time kids penalty shoot-out, although many may have missed him....

Were they Perth players ? Because i know Campbell doesn't realy believe in Perth players to much ! He seems to throw boys out to easy !They are all Glasgow imports ( well not all them ).

Yes I assume from what parents were saying they were Perth players.

I hope you can prove what you know or some folk on this forum will shoot you down. If this is just your opinion I would suggest you state it only your opinion.

Just a suggestion from someone who has lurked this forum and the old BH site for a long time. Only got the courage to actually post last week. :***:

At that age, they will be from Perth, they would have been picked from our Saturday Morning sessions or durin the week sessions.

Pauldinho I am going to jump to the clubs defence in this case. Saints do now look at younger local lads but not before time !

That was not the case under Alaistair Stevenson when mini bus loads of kids were brought up from Glasgow every week and Perth lads only got picked up when they played well against Saints. In the short seven year history of Gannochy football club we had to wait until this year for Saints to sign one of our players directly (Johnny Bee and Sam Weir), Before we had two players who ended up at McDiarmid but only after spells at Dundee. Saints even managed to over look a player who when he moved down south was picked up by Liverpool for 12 weeks and ended up at Preston North End. The whole system was wrong and I know many lads in the local league just gave up on Saints even looking at them

Since Mr Campbell took over things are better. He does not have the funding of Alistair and that may force him to look at local lads. I certainly know that we have had more offers of games at the younger level since the change than we did in the Stevenson years. I assume they not only use these games for match practice with Saints but to look at local players

Pauldinho which local player do you think has been over looked or shown the door?
