Worst performance of the season came when I missed the Clyde game for a wedding, I again miss this game for another wedding, so hopefully, they don't have similar, anyone willing to provide regular and detailed text updates?

the international break came at a time when we were on fire, this will hopefully freshen everyone up and we can do the business
these are games at home we have to win, if we are to be any chance of either catching the leader and then to hopefully go onto win the championship

Another one for you Radders, from the BBC -
'Queen of the South expect to complete the signing of Motherwell defender David Nixon on Friday.
The 19-year-old will join the First Division outfit until January and could make his debut against St Johnstone.'
How does this fit in with the rules on loans etc?

At last, match day has arrived and not before time too. A convincing win for the SAINTEES coupled with a few results going our way and by 5.00pm we'll all be happy as "dundonians in shite". I think Queens will struggle today as long as the boys at the back concentrate and focus for 90 minutes. An early goal for us would help settle the team and if we can do that then I feel we can go on to score 4 or 5 but I'll take 2-0 ( as long as it aint 1-0 with 10 minutes to go).One more thing . I would like to see the team have a man at the front post for our corners as I think the flick-on is a very affective weapon yet we rarely use it and if a corner is short it can still cause problems for the defending team as opposed to being headed away by the first defender where no attacker is present...Lets get right behind the team from the start today
Come on ye Saints!!!!!.Come on ye Saints!!!!

Prefer Pars to take something out of the Hamilton game to narrow the gap but they are already 2-0 down.

Thought we played poor today not the usual fare we have been enjoying recently, The foul on Rocco was later than last weeks post. Looked a bad one hope he's ok.
It was 2 - 0 going on 5 - 0 if it wasn't for their keeper who saved 3 certain goals.
Few folk were below par today.
But as they say a wins a win.

mooner come on for quinn ... then went off for peaso ? did i read it right .
is it a serious injury for quinn
Deuchar should have had 3 goals in the first half.
We were all over them throughout the game and should have scored a lot more but 2-0 is a decent enough result.
The foul on Rocco was as late as you'll ever see, QOS were getting away with this constantly so it was no surprise that there was a serious foul in the game, Mooner was subbed after coming on due to a similar late foul when the ball was away. McClaren and McInnes also suffered knocks from exactly the same thing- late fouls.
The ref and linesman failed to see QOS's blatant cheating tactics right from kickoff and Anderson was booked when he had been fouled by their wee diving No 10.
After the match it was announced that Quinn was only suffering a minor concussion but it could have been a lot worse given how John O Neil went right into him well after Quinn had played the ball- of course the ref and linesman saw absolutely bugger all- disgraceful performance which could have had very serious consequences for the players on the pitch.

Hi SC, sorry but that seems contradictory?
Just pointing out it could have been 5- 0 but we just didn't play that well.
Seen Saints play better in defeat than the played in a win today.
it may have seemed we didnt play well but to me we just cruised through the game in 2nd gear doing all we needed to do to win. very easy win. very happy the way we are playing

Totally agree with Muzz - we played as well as we had to and won easily. OK we should have scored more , but this was as comfortable a win as we've had for a long time and there was always the feeling we could have stepped up a gear or two if needed. Full marks to the defence - Queens hardly got a sniff today. While McLaren did ok I would prefer to see Weatherston starting on the right next week. He has pace, and the belief that lets him take players on and get into crossing positions. Willie seems to want to cut inside and pass the ball rather than play like the winger we had hoped he was when we signed him.

I would suggest that when you are 8 points behind the leaders and they are in the process of increasing their goal difference to 10 better than us, therefore effectively making us 9 points behind, there is a need to step up a gear or two!
Sometimes just doing what you have to do isnt good enough. I hope it isnt down to goal difference at the end of the season.

I thought we played excellent football at times. Queens knocked the ball about reasonably well, but were completely snuffed out by our defence. Although we missed a few sitters, I think it was just one of those days when even the well struck shots and headers were going straight for their keeper.
On another day it would have been at least six.

Can't really argue with that 7-2. Good point, well made. However, the point I was trying to make was that we did play well today. No weak links - defence and striking partnership in particular looking solid. I wasn't really defending our performance; more disagreeing with those who claimed we played poorly.
I left the ground feeling confident that we've got what it takes to overhaul Hamilton.

Good performance from us and with a few more breaks we'd have won by 4 or 5 - McDonald has twice shown himself to be a decent keeper against us. Nothing fancy but it's the sort of game that earlier in the season we'd have thrown away a one-goal lead and ended up with a draw.
The challenge on Quinn was a bad one but I thought overall the referee didn't have too bad a game - couldn't believe the whinging and dissent the QoS players (esp their no10) got away with all day.
braw result. And nice wee away support, thanks.Bet they were surprised that we all dont wear fancy dress! Its just that they might think that big up embarrasment that goes away to dumfries regularly were our average fan.Never, but we got a fair share of biffs though

I tend to agree with that, a very tricky fixture and a good result. These are the games we are expected to win and so we did the business. Livi and Dunfermline, recently SPL teams were demolished. We need more access to the SPL especially as the longer you stay down your support diminishes. We know that. I think we're in the right place or mid October with a good squad.
Really happy after today.
If Deuchar had his shooting boots on he could easily have had 3 at least. Jackson played excellent again, hitting the post and having a few good shots well saved or blocked.
We played well, apart from a 15-20 min period in the second where Queens pushed us a bit.
Main didn't really have a save to make.
I thought McManus was excellent at the back today and would give him MoM just ahead of Quinn and Jacko.
Really chuffed, and I for the first time this season, feal really confident were finally moving in the right direction.

I know what you are saying 7-2 but I think you also have to be realistic in that we are only a quarter of the way through the season. The important thing at the moment is to get the points in the bag. We had a sticky patch at the start of teh season hamilton haven't had theirs yet. 3 points for a win makes a helluva difference.
If it is 8 points at teh end of teh first half then you can start getting slightly worried but at the moment we still have 3 matches against Hamilton which would account for the 9 points.

I wouldn't really agree with that. If we are constantly competing near the top of the 1st Division the fans are more likely to start creeping back. There is more chance of encouraging new fans through the gates with a team that is winning regularly.

I don't think Deuchar was fully fit, having missed a few days training, and i reckon would've been replaced by Peaso had Moon no got injured.
The good thing is we've got a nice wee cushion over Morton and Dunfermline. As Mainstand said, Hamilton and Dundee will start dropping points sooner or later so we have to keep up our standard of play and take advantage of slip ups.
We're a far better team than we were at the beginning of the season and after seeing our last 4 games, I'm feeling confident that we'll overhaul the teams above us. By the end of this quarter I believe we'll be a lot closer to Hamilton

Yes if we were playing great football and likely to go up then the crowds will return. I think that might work for a season ... or two but in the long term lower attendances are a fact in the lower divisions. However when you play the bigger teams in the SPL then the crowds come out anyway in my opinion.

Im not worried. I just think that we are not in a position to be crusing in games when there is still work to be done. Dont forget that we actually lost ground yesterday thanks to Hamilton winning by 5 goals.
Im sure Hamilton will have a rough patch but who is to say we wont have another one as well or get a few more key injuries. There is also the small point in that our 2 catalysts Deuchar and Quinn are only on loan and remember how we played before they arrived.
Relying on us taking 9 points from Hamiltion in our 3 games against them is a somewhat risky strategy shall we say.
You've got to go for the jugular every time you can.

Having just watched the video online it is pretty clear that we should have murdered them - plenty of great chances but far too many hit straight at the keeper or blazed over!
