Easy saying that, but as has been discussed in previous incarnations of the forum, we get Xara kit for nothing (in fact they may even pay us to wear it???). whereas it is upwards of

John, not sure what you mean with that sort of answer but there a plenty of folk on here who are fed up with the hollow promises we get from Xara and the club about when these shirts are going to be available. People have already paid

Did we not used to make our own strips at one point? The St Johnstone Collection (or something like that) springs to mind.

Aye but the room where they made them under the Main Stand got turned into the players family lounge, and Aggies hands wir in ruin with all the sewing.

Sort of, I think the company who made them might have been called Premier Sports (feel free to correct me on this), they made the strips with a 'The Saints Collection' logo on them. This gave the appearance that we were making our own line of sports wear but in reality they were doing the same thing for a lot of other clubs too (Raith Rovers for one).

The point is that we have been over this and Saints will not be changing from Xara.
The "YAWN" was me saying that I was not going to repeat what has been said already.
This thread will run and run with people saying Nike, TFG ......
It WILL still be Xara next year.
The St Johnstone collection was the same guy that now does Xara.

A lot of the problem is with presentation, to be honest. If the fans were told there would be two new strips a season, with one available at the start of the campaign and the other at Christmas, nobody would complain too much - as long as it was consistent from one season to the next.
It would be more of a problem to get an away strip in December this year then a new one in July all of a sudden.

To be fair Scobby (and others) are new... he wont know the story behind why it's beneficial to be with Xara...
They pay us, to wear the tops and provide all teh team's kits, training gera etc for free... no-one else would be nearly that good and they would mena Saints paying out a fortune to stock everything and deal with everything.

I think the point is that pretty much all clubs smaller than Saints have to buy their own kits - in the case of QoS and a couple of others, they've chosen to buy a Nike one. Saints could probably afford to do this in theory, but there is little sense in doing it when, as a bigger club, we're able to get a deal with a manufacturer (Xara) who provide our kit free of charge.

The kit Saints get from Xara FOC amounts to a 5 figure sum.
Xara will also give Saints over 10k in royalties from shirt sales this season.

Got a letter in the post this morning, away jerseys on sale at asda from 4pm on Thursday 1st December. "Our manager, Owen Coyle and several first team players will be in attendance".
They'll be around 1000 avaliable for sale, adult costs 26.97, youth 23.97.

FROM FISHAL SITE:
The Club are pleased to announce that new away jersey will be launched next Thursday, 1st December. Owen Coyle and some of the players will be in attendance at Asda in Dunkeld Road at 4pm which again will be the only retail outlet for the kit although the jerseys will be available on-line via the club website.
Adult jerseys will be 26.97 and youths 23.97.
Around 1,000 jerseys have been manufactured but demand is expected to be high given the fact that the names of those season ticket holders who chose to be included plus others who paid, will have their names in the fabric of the jersey so supporters are urged to buy quickly.
