Hi guys, it was decided that on top of the £20 award for league leader, we'd also have a £15 award for a wee internal cup winner. The cup will be run by the same rules as the actual game's cup comp, i.e. who ever get's the biggest score that week goes through etc. This should give a bit more interest to those who are falling off the pace...

We have 12 teams, so 4 got byes into the Quarter Finals.

The draw was going to take place yesterday, but after the postponement, a draw was conducted under the watchful eye of an independent PSJ witness, Chips (Saint Of Raith).

One game will be played each week as described below...

Kev Brockman reports:-

So one more week of games for preperation left before the big cups starts up and the first tie sees Elvis' Army managed by Stewart 'Elvis' Reid paired with Lucky Dip, managed by Mikey 'Woody' Woodburn.

Both men lead their men into this game with their teams sitting in the lower reaches of the league, but looking safe from relegation, this being their greatest hope of success. Reid is confident however, claiming "Elvis' Army is here to stay". Whether this is true remains to be seen as Woody's tactics may just be starting to pay off, with a tremendous week's score this week, "I'm looking to shut the dick up."

In my view, Woody has this game in the bag. He can't lose. Ever since changing his ways and becoming Father Theresa, he's had god on his side. It must be payback for for curing the deaf and rescuing church football teams!!

Boran reports;

Aye Good manager Alan Christie was delighted with a home draw in the quarter finals of the competition against MILF Hunters saying a home draw was all you could ask for at this stage of the competition;

"A home draw is all you can ask for at this stage of the competition"

Christie continued with his cliches by saying;

"We will give MILF Hunters every respect. James Johnston is doing a fine job there and will make things difficult for us."

Christie then deviated from this range of cliches by concluding;

"I did think Jinky was dead so it will be nice to catch up with him. Douglas Spew did claim to have seen him recently in a tent but you can't believe anything that bloke says, I mean he claimed to have a date on Saturday night for example."

Current World Champions Aye Good are of course fighting for trophies on all fronts at the moment so it remains to be seen if they play their strongest eleven in this one.

Max Branning reports:

After recent stories in the press that, Aye Good boss, Algernon Christie doesn't believe a word he says, 110 toes tactically tenacious top dog Dougie Frew claimed he would love to set up a meeting in the semi finals in order to shut Al up and "gie's peace for a change!"

However, Frew went onto say that although he believes his numerous digits are in with a shout against Captains Crappers nothing is certain in football. He does believe his old pal James Johnston can see off Aye Good in the earlier stages of the cup.

"I have seen him. He is alive," said Frew of of the wayward Milf Hunter. Frew added, "I bumped into him in the summer while we were both milf hunting in Argyle. He wasn't in his tent, he was sitting outside it as it had started to sink. Luckily he'd managed to save his hat before it went down!"

Frew was not willing to comment on whether it had been a successful hunt for the pair.

Dont think it starts until next week. That was only gameweek 23.

However based on last week results victory would have gone to Milf Hunters. I would have beaten you all as I had the top score for the week.

I am aware now that I wont get a single point for the remainder of the campaign.

The Puffins travel to the Crackheads this coming Saturday in a desperate attempt to save their season. Manager McLaughlan is under severe pressure after losing ground on the chasing pack over recent weeks. Speculation surrounds his star striker Benjani and it will be interesting to note if he is included in the Puffins starting eleven tomorrow. McLaughlan's bizarrre infatuation with Wigan defenders and Birmingham strikers has seen supporters call for his head. Surely however they will have enough to defeat Dunbar's crackheads, even away from home? Given Lucky Dip successfully moved through to the quarter finals last week you can safely say anything can happen in the mad world of PSJ fantasy football.

Puffins chairman Saisbur McMannus today announced yet another vote of confidence in McLaughlan. In a statement released stated that the Puffins lowly league position although disapointing was purely down to bad luck and that Jerome and Sharner had the talent to take the fantasy world by storm given the time.

Speculation that McManns had approached the agent of Aye Good manager Al Christie was laughed off.

"Christie? Good God no. He's a tube and would not be welcome here."

Kev Brockman reports:-

The cup kicks off with two shocks, the biggest without doubt being The Spritely Puffins being seen off by the releagtion battlers Crackheads... the crackheads progressing to meet Lucky Dip in the third semi-final... exciting stuff indeed, but surely there will be no shock in the next tie as Spirit Squad lie languishing miles behind.

Sorbie pulled some form out the bag to triumph 38-31 over Spirit Squad, delighting manager Campbell; "I am delighted" he told me yesterday.

Mone the ODAB, get Shankly knocked out, have been riding their luck all season.

Torres scored, not once, not twice but three times. Gerrard added one for good measure. Bye bye MILF Hunters :D, good effort from you though up against the might of Aye Good.

Just glad wasn't playing Dunbar this week!!

Lucky Dip knock out Frankly Mr Shankly to face the mighty Aye Good in the final.

Shankly manager Graeme Duncan has left the country according to our sources in order to avoid a baying lynch mob of his teams supporters who won't be satisfied until they have his head on a stick. It remains to be seen whether this dramatic, unprecedented set back will see Frankly collapse in the league. For the good of football lets hope so.

The football world has also been denied a grand slam final between the two fantasy heavyweights in Aye Good and Frankly Mr Shankly. Aye Good as ever kept their part of the bargain but are now believed to be apprehensive about facing shock troops Lucky Dip in the final. Aye Good manager Al had this to say;

"I am apprehensive about meeting shock troops Lucky Dip in the final"

Angry scenes today at Aye Good's training ground. Having already lost the cup final to the unheralded Lucky Dip, the ease with which bitter rivals Frankly Mr Shankly won the league seems to have finally turned the supporters on their manager. Furious fans were heard screaming "Aye Good Si, Christie No!" After another trophyless year, how long can Mr Christie sustain such pressure?

Pink

Christie must go!

Aye Good is a sporting dynasty. Such a heralded institution knows better than to go about sacking managers who are "well respected in the game" left right and centre.

I have been called to London for "talks" with Aye Good chairman Bojan Shipalareskaov today though so that can't be good.......

Roll on Fantasy Euro 2008.
