We never get an luck from the draw.

We''ll we have to hope something unbelivables going to happen, if we stand a chance.

We have the hardest group out of all the British teams, and al the Sky Sports folk are saying its impossible for us

Listening to Craif Brown on Radio Scotland and he thinks we can qualify from this group :D

He thinks the top 3 will all take points of each other and we should hope for draws in these games

He want's us to get maximum points at home and take some points away and we will qualify - Wish it was that easy

Our group shows all the classic signs of us doing our usual get beat in the first few games against the so called diddy teams , go on a wee run against the bigger teams with other results going for us , get the nation all excitied and believing we might just do it only to blow it big style in a glorious defeat. :***:

That's why we all love following Scotland and Saints because we all like to dream that you just never ever know this just might be the one when we do qualify.

As much as it sounds stupid - he makes a good point. Nobody is going to run away with this group. If you stick a wee run together then all of a sudden you could be through. It will probably not happen but stranger things have happened.

Bugger it - if your going to win the thing you would be as well putting France and Italy out in the qualifiers :D

We're fecked, simple as that! Even if we're to win all our home games (which is a massive ask) the places we need to go to are far from easy.

Good places for a fan to go to though, apart from France - but maybe thats just me hating everything French!

Hopefully we'll get a double header away trip out of it!

Couldn`t have got a worse section but Scotland always do better against the better sides so you never know. 8)

We shouldnt be so negative. We have an excellent group of young players coming through who are now breaking into the old firm. The likes of Wilson, Riordan, O'conner, Boyd, Thomson, Brown etc can all go on and do well for Scotland and join the likes of Gordon, Fletcher, Hartley, McFadden, Miller and co to make a pretty decent side. Its looking good for Scotland just now - we may not qualify but we will certainly cause a few upsets!

couldnt have really got a worse group if you think of it but hopefully we can do the unexpected.........you just don't know

Kiev and Tblisi mean the TA are breaking new ground again!!! Not too bothered by the rest as they are all places we have been before and it is unlikely we ill qualify but we all start with nil!!!

Let's look on the bright side there's always the 2010 World Cup draw.

Kiev - that sounds an interesting place;
Tiblisi - so does that and they are expecting 100000 seemingly;
Milan - very nice;
Paris - brilliant;
Lithuania - interesting;
Faroe Islands - somebody's got to live there.

I think we should use these games to try and get into the top 30 in the world so that we can get in a higher pot in the draw and avoid teams like Ukraine/. The draw isn't going to get any better until we move up again. The only consolation is the attractiveness of the teams and hopefully some income.

100,000 :***:, according to officials the tartan army have to be aware of kid napping, and not to travel alone, especially after dark! Doesnt sound my cup of tea, Paris or Lithuania might be quite good

Anybody else think that the SFA should try and get a double header away to Italy and France in the first round of fixtures?

My thinking behind this is that firstly you get the toughest away games over and done with, the only game from then on that you would struggle to gain even a point in should be Ukraine away (schedule that last and hope that they are out of it?).

Secondly it's shortly after the word cup - players retire, managers move on, teams are in a certain amount of disarray and the Italian season won't even be started.

Come back with nothing and it's what you expected. Sneak a point or two and your laying down the challenge to everyone else.

On past form though we'll probably try and succeed in getting a draw with the Faroes before improving, raising our hopes and ultimately failing again.

You're right it does sound a bit on the large side, maybe Chick Young said the Ukranian and not the Georgian delegate said that. I think I heard that on '90 Minutes'.
Paris IS great.

It would be useful to know where we stand after these games.
On the other hand it may be useful to get confidence early on or not. I think I'd like to play Italy and france at home early in the season when they may not be ticking properly. However I think it's best to go Italy when it's not too hot. (i.e. not September or May). It's difficult to get our way in fixture negotiations.
