Great great result throught at Love Street for us today, aswell as for Ross of course. Makes the Midden game on the 11 Feb huge!!! Let's get right up for this one, vocal backing and big home support cos i have no doubt midden will bring a few.

COME ON YOU SAINTS!!!!!!!!!!! :***:

7 points - GAME ON !!!

It's only January. To be honest if we and St.Mirren continue in a similar manner then a draw with St.Mirren is not a disaster.
A win would be awesome.

County can actually close the gap to four points if they win their game in hand at home to Stranraer. In a way we want that as it will really turn up the heat on the shite for Paisley!

Keep the faith!

5 points Radford, Did you no use your calculator

if i'm honest, i'm still a pesa, istic regarding promotion. But if this run continues, and the defence continue to keep it tight, will will be in a very good posistion for next season....we might just have left it too late.

.....BUT, keep it up lads, the Midden's bubble may have burst, and if it has, we have to ensure we are capable of punishing them!!

To all the guys who said we were getting carried away last week when we said The league is still on, where are you tonite. Bloody Brilliant day for the saintees. Unbeaten in the league this year, c`mon saints make it 4 wins on the trot in 2 weeks time and send the sh*tters up the fake saints.

WELL DONE SAINTS!

This is what will seperate the men from the boys.
I now expect us and st.midden to be the only contenders, County may come along for a bit of a ride, but they wont see it through.
Im not making any predictions just now, but if we beat them on the 11th, my god its going to be a great end to the season, whatever the outcome.

Winters looks the part, but i expect another attacking type player before tuesday.

Buckle in kids, the rides about to get bumpy!!!!

It's good to see the game have some meaning but I'm concerned we're setting ourselves up for a fall. We seemed to take a lot of time to play the ball out of defence today and Owen looked poor up front. I just feel that if we don't up the effort a lot more for the Midden match we'll be punished.

I agree with you about County, if our run continues and we are still in the race by March 11, when we play county, i expect county to be out of the race. However it is games like that, that are essential to win!

Still here and still not getting carried away :***:

The test comes now in these run of games against the better sides.

We have done well to pick up the points in what could of been tricky games, but still games I would expect to win and win well in none the less.

It certainly makes the Midden game interesting (we are due a couple of results against them) but we have to kep winning beyond that. Win our next 3 games and you can carry me away on that happy bandwagon baby :D

Again, linked to my fresh optimism topic started previously, i cannae wait! But it's a big game - we're bount to under perform - i'd rather not have a large crowd as that's always when we play poorly!!!

Ross County still have a game in hand, at home IIRC, so we need to be wary - but basically we have to WIN most matches (if not all!!) especially against Hamilton, St Mirren, Ross County and Dundee. And hope others get a result against the four of those.

GAME ON INDEED!

Just wish it was next week, two weeks is a long time to go without a game!

'Mon the Saints!

Coming back down to earth we now have the next six fixtures which hopefully we'll cope with without losing ground since the three fixtures after that are easier -
St Johnstone vs St Mirren 11-02-2006
Hamilton vs St Johnstone 18-02-2006
St Johnstone vs Airdrie Utd 04-03-2006
Ross County vs St Johnstone 11-03-2006
Dundee vs St Johnstone 18-03-2006
St Johnstone vs Clyde 25-03-2006

If we come out of those fixtures with 14 points or better, i beleive we will win the league.
Im not saying we will, but we could

I couldn't argue with that.

St.Mirren on the other hand have bankers in two games (6 points), 1 medium difficult game in the improving QOS and three tricky games -

St Johnstone vs St Mirren 11-02-2006
St Mirren vs Stranraer 18-02-2006
Brechin vs St Mirren 04-03-2006
St Mirren vs Queen of Sth 11-03-2006
Clyde vs St Mirren 18-03-2006
St Mirren vs Airdrie Utd 25-03-2006

.................. then they have three tough ones while we have realtively easier games, so if we stay with them over this period that's the test.

i would say ross county are a threat but when we played them before christmas when we were pish they never took advantage but watching them on tv they seemed good.

i see us doing it as long as we dont do the st johnstone and leave it too late!!

its funny all the pundets said that the league is over - how stupid and ignorent are they they never pay atention to the first division until the last three games!!

It wasn't just pundits and people with no interest in the First Division who were saying the league was over though - such a comment was the norm on this forum up until a couple of weeks ago! :P

yeah indeed but i heard a numpty on radio clyde say - " i think owen coyles men have left it to late" - sitting 7 points behind with a lot of games left and still to playthe midden twice - its that kinda comment i mean

im not talking about mr radford and his terrible st johnstone depression :)
