why did we let him go? he was man of match for Blackpool 2day - having a great season and bagging loads of goals - scored one and set up 2 up in Hartlepool 2day - I hope we put an 'future sale' clause in his contract!

100% agreed, IIRC he refused our contract offers did he not. I know his attitude wasn't always great but what a player he was in his moments. And what a player he looks to be developing into. I really hope we see him in a saints shirt again!!

I always remember his volley in the last minute against Caley! Was it not to win 3-2

I don't think the reason Parker left was because of money. We certainly didn't get anything for his transfer as he joined Blackpool on freedom of contract, and I think the primary reason for him wanting to move was because we had a numpty of a manager in el Starko, who for some reason didn't rate him and preferred to play Simon Donnelly. Parker normally came off the bench that season, and when JC took over he wanted to keep him, but I think by that stage Parker had already decided he wanted to leave.

He's no loss. He couldn't even get a game for us most of the time he was here, predominantly because he was rubbish (and even when he did come on he spent most of his time rolling around on the ground). He had terrific hair though, as I remember.

A prima donna who almost gets booked as many times as he scores. Blackpool are not exactly setting trends in League 1.

i have never seen anyone take to the surface of mcd as much as him!! was pathetic the way he went down, he would never get a penalty cause of the blatent dives and he had got himself a reputation!

Have you seen any of his recent action. Yesterday, he was involved in all 3 of their goals. FOULED for both their penalties, and rounding off a very good performance with a well taken goal. I rekon most, if not all league 1 sides are better than the teams in div 1, and from what i have seen keigan looks to have improved consideralbly from his days here. I belive he would be a very useful player at any level in scotland.

I have.

I would dispute your assertion that 'most, if not all League 1 sides are better than the teams in Div 1. I have seen quite a few of Huddersfield Town's home matches this season and I have seen some dreadful stuff from opposing sides, as well as Town, and they are 3rd! Parker is doing fine this season but Blackpool are pretty lowly so to shine in a poor team is not difficult.

Like all teams, in all divisions, they will have good and bad days.

I don't think he's a player you can judge on highlights though. You could put together a montage of highlights of his best bits in a Saints jersey and he'd look like a world-beater - he did, after all, score a handful of sensational goals while he was here. But for every great goal he scored, he had about 5 pathetic dives, and for every decent game he had, there were about 5-10 games where he strolled about the pitch looking disinterested and refusing to pass. He didn't get a game very often when he was here for good reason - and, if he'd stayed, I still don't think he'd be getting a game. Scotland, Coyle, Milne, Peaso and even a fit, confident Dobbie are all better than him.

i agree with you is attitude absolutley stank while he was here, but what i was trying to say is that from what i've heard his attitude has improved during his time down there. It obviously won't be perfect, but an improvements better than nothing! I am probably a bit biast. As while he was here, i loved some of the things he pulled off, and was always dissapointed when he wasn't on the team sheet.

I watch this level of Football, Tranmere, and would agree with Rory, any team from that league would romp this division... Tranmere are not going well, but they are far superior side to Saints.

I'd also add that Parker won a lot of their player of the season trophies and is highly rated by the Blackpool fans... seems he has calmed down a lot, still takes a dive and is petulant from time to time, but that's him.

As I said, sometimes you see quality football in this division and sometimes you see some dire stuff. Huddersfield Town, my local side, did well against Chelski but have played a load of carp at other times against less than average sides, and they are 3rd!!!!!!

Saints could I believe hold their own, on a good day, against these outfits in League 1. None of them consistently good enough to be considered Championship material. That includes your beloved Tranmere who, no doubt on their day, are a force to be reckoned with in this division. With half the season gone they look as if they are going nowhere

13 Yeovil
14 Tranmere
15 Port Vale
16 Blackpool
17 Walsall
18 Gillingham
19 Bristol City
20 S****horpe
21 Hartlepool
22 Rotherham
23 Swindon
24 Milton Keynes Dons

Getting back to Parker. He is hardly in a quality side and will never go anywhere that is!

I know it's not a totally fair way to gauge it, but Tranmere pay a lot more wages for a player than Saints and I would take probably any Tranmere player in the Saints side, but anyway...

Oh and Tranmere would be a lot better if they had a manager that took a risk every now and again... four 0-0's in a row

I reckon Parker will end up in the Championship.

I reckon Parker will end up in the Championship.

Craig Levein was reportedly interested in him when he was Leicester manager, but obviously that idea will have gone now that Leicester are no longer "Levein" the dream!!!
