Am I the only one who is feeling a little bit of apathy towards this game and indeed most of the league games still to come.I will of course be there be in my seat at 3pm on Saturday and once it gets going I will be right into it,but right now I,m slightly uninterested in the game and am only looking forwards to the Cup semi, possible final, and the start of next season. The crowds for the last two home games have been very poor and I fear this one will struggle to attract any more than about 2300 hardy souls...No real news on the official site as regards injuries but the PA has Jacko looking likely to be fit and also Stanic.Late test for Rocco possibly???

Team wise.....How about....

Main

Irvine,McManus,Rusty,Stanic/Ando(please)

Moon/Rocco,Craig Morris.

Weatherston,Jackson,McDonald

Subs. Bert,,Milne,Sheerin,Moon,Ando.( Wilson,Hardie) if Rocco and Stanic don,t make it.

Feeling complete apathy towards the league now myself.

Doubt I'll be at another league game this season, decided that unless we get within 6 points of 1st place I wont be going.

Will be a glory hunter and go to the cup games though.

The crowd will be interesting. Without checking back, I fear Tuesday was the lowest ever crowd for a league match at McDiarmid, which is strange and maybe surprising considering our average is at it's best since we were relegated. You'd have to hope that a Saturday game would get us back over the 2,000 mark though.

I'd like to see us maintain the good home record and the second half on Tuesday at least signalled there is some fight left in the players. The way we start games has generally been a problem in the league but Tuesday was the worst, we just didn't compete with Clyde in the first 30 minutes. Little test of McInnes' management to see if he can sort that out.

Team news is encouraging with the expected return of Goran and Jacko and also a chance Rocco might make it. Good to hear James and Hardie are coming along as well and will play in a bounce game on Monday.

For me, Rocco Quinn doesn't contribute if he's got a niggling problem, we saw that at Dens Park and with Kevin Harper finding form, Anderson is a better choice than Sheerin at left back for this game. David Weatherston needs a run of games too and I'd like to see him get a shot wide right if Jackson doesn't make it.

Main

Irvine - Rutkiewicz - McManus - Stanic (Anderson)

Quinn (Moon) - Morris - Craig

Jackson (Weatherston) - Milne - MacDonald

Subbies: Tucuth, James/Anderson, Sheerin, Moon/Weatherston/Hardie/McBreen.

Need to take your chances, Dunfy had one scored one. We should of won that comfortably, Savo had a few good chances.

No more SPL referees please, McCurry was worst since Freeland. The move for their goal was started by their right back who shouldn't even have been on the pitch.

Why take off goran? Fair doos just back from injury but he was having a good game and didnt look to be struggling. McManus stuck on his heels Crawford walks past him and megs Main. Savo needs a goal and no Hardie?

Scored though. Give him a break, he doesn't make that many mistakes and I think he's still a defender we can use next season. Maybe not week in week out but he'll still be vital next season.

Moon gave the ball away cheaply, Sheerin stood back from the loose ball before it even got near McManus, should never have reached Crawford at all.

Typical end of season fayre.Savo would have trouble scoring in a brothel at the moment.Stanics removal seemed a bit strange unless he was feeling a twinge...Saints played some decent stuff but with little in the way of end product...Ref was pretty poor( whats new)..All in all not very good...Ah well onwards and upwards...Bring on the Accies......

Well that evens things out from August, when we were lucky to escape with a draw. The one thing that hasn't changed since then is the Pars' toothlessness in attack. Saints held a high line all afternoon and really kept Dunfermline pinned back for long spells.

We were back along more familiar lines after the defeat to Clyde and started with a good tempo and created several good chances in the opening 25 minutes. Dunfermline came back into things a bit after that and Harper forced Main into a fine save with a drive. Thought we merited our lead at half time though, courtesy of a back post header from Allan McManus following Sheerin's free kick.

Milne had a great chance at the start of the second half but Gallacher made a fine save and we pushed for a second but of course without you are always liable to be punished and a mix up between Moon and Sheerin saw the Pars break and Crawford held off McManus well to fire under Main. After that Dunfermline came alive a bit and Burke made a huge difference for them but Barry Wilson came close for us at the death with a good turn and shot.

Disappointing not to win but the performance was much more acceptable although maybe slightly worrying that for all our possession, our goal came from a set piece. Thought Jody Morris started slowly but when he found his feet there wasn't really a bad performer in white, although young Mooner had a bit of a stinker when he was introduced.

I thought it was a good performance, just couldn't get thekiller 2nd goal. Savo was outstanding, and it was unfortunate he couldn't get the goal he so deserved. His all round play was the best i've seen him for a while, hopefully he'll get a goal soon. It would be worse if he wasn't getting any chances, at least hes there to mis them. Also thought that the front three dominated their defence, and liam craig was very good first half especially.

well lets see, i thuoght that was pretty decent stuff from the saiintees with enough chances to win 2 or 3 games , but at least we are making them.I dont really think you could say any of our players were"BAD" i wouldnt put blame on any of our players for there goal as there full back who was involved in the move shouldve seen red earlier.Morris who i have been quite critical about on here before had his best game in a saints jersey, milne despite the misses was excellent{JUST NEEDS ONE TO GO IN FOR HIM} just now ,goran looked to be back to his best, bit of a surprise he was subbed, if peaso has a groin inj and is set for an opp , he showed no sign of it.To sum up by far not the worst display in 30 odd years of following saints, cant say the same about dunfermline though, utter crap, toothlees devoid of ideas, possibly the worst team ive seen at mcd this season and as for that ref...AGHHHHH DONT GET ME STARTED:x

Actually thought Saints played some good flowing football for most of the game. Some near misses that could have been great goals just as easily. Far superior team to Dunfermline but the ball just wouldn't break for us - that's football!
Not too despondent about it.

Never looked in trouble the whole game against what had to be the worst team seen at McD all season. Thats 2 games on the trot we have passed up enough chances to win loads of games which is a bit worrying but at least we are making the chances.

Goal was a disaster with Moon ,Sheerin,Mcmanus & Main all contributing to gift them the goal.

thought we played well yesterday and some of our football, especially in the first twenty minutes, was superb. was pleased to see us dominate a team like dunfermline and was just dissapointed we didn't seem to have that killer touch infront of goal. only reason that i can think of for putting craig to left back was that he thought harper would be too quick and skillful for sheerin? but don't understand why stanic was taken off in the first place. i geniunely thought there would be no boos after todays game but once again some of our fans proved me wrong.

30-03-2008, 01:23 PM
I think any boos were more down to frustration than anything else. Yes we played well but again we didnt kill the opposition off and we lost another bloody daft goal into the process.

Cagey
30-03-2008, 07:50 PM
I think the boo`s were for the ref but maybe no.
We are all very philosophical about the result yesterday but if the 2 points we dropped was crucial to our position for promotion it would have been a different matter.
