Have to follow the crowd and go for Alan Main but really I could have chosen any of them. So hard to choose, heroes one and all.

i agree with all the above but i cant believe big Allan McManus hasnt got a mention. I though he was tremendous, he ran, tackled and headered all day long, he gave every inch of everything he had. Andy Jackson gets my vote though

Here Here, I thought McManus was superb today, our defence was excellent, Main great, but im going for Rusty.

Ruti for me, just ahead of Main who incidentally was BBC man of the match. The defence were superb but it was harder for Ruti to run around with Cousin in his back pocket!

McManus won everything in the air, best game he has ever played for the club.

Rutki and Main were also phenomenal.

God knows how anyone could say Savo- he missed an absolute sitter, another good chance, missed a pen in the shootout then f***** off down the tunnel afterwards.

Fair play to Rutki who gave his shirt to a disabled fan down the front of the stand- thats what Saints are all about.

Alan Main kicks the ball out once and folk were shouting at him, he played a great game!

God knows how anyone could say Savo- he missed an absolute sitter, another good chance, missed a pen in the shootout then f***** off down the tunnel afterwards.

Savo ran his arse off for the whole game, created several chances and put in loads of tackles. As for him running down the tunnel the poor sod was in bloody tears at losing.

Great to hear that a Saints player was named man of the match.

McManus for me, won his battles and solid in the air. Stand out. Particularly as they were playing long ball most game.

20-04-2008, 10:24 PM
Savo did his usual- run about the park with no end product whatsoever.

He should have stayed on the pitch after the penalties, we were all in the same bloody boat, would any supporter who walked out without applauding the players be held in such high regard?

I thought Main was outstanding so I'd have to say him. However I thought that Irvine, Stanic, McManus and Rutkiewicz all had great games. Morris I thought didn't have a great footballing display but as for his tackling, heart and determination that was superb. The exact same with Craig, didn't think he had a great footballing game but worked his socks off. But it's Main for me.

everyone in a saints shirt played their part today - i went for main although (tongue in cheek) he could have saved a few more penalties.:D

Main for me also especially after the flack he gets from some posters on this site, I hope the detractors now know why he gets a game ahead of Cuthbert.

Rusty bits for me. Thought he made the Rangers defenders look very ordinary. Main was immense as well.

Rustybits for me though the whole squad was a team of heroes in my eyes.

Only the second time ive been able to vote this season and both times thanks to internet TV.

Voted for Craig, thought he put in a tremendous performance. Main, Irvine, Ruti, McManus, Morris also stand outs, but no-one really let the side down.

Cant believe no votes for Morris

Personally thought he was the best player on the pitch but obviously there are a few other candidates. Really hope we can keep him.

Main was superb, Irvine as steady as ever and Rustybitz and Milne did a lot of work. But I'm going to for McManus. I think his form has been inconsistent all season but he stepped up to the plate yesterday and didn't put a foot wrong.

Rusty, Main and Irvine all deserve praise but I thought Liam Craig edged it. What a cracking signing he is.

must admit I am surprised at the votes for Rusty ahead of McManus. Rusty was at fault for the pen, school boy tackle going to ground in the box. This reason he doesnt get my MOM. Both superb throughout!!

Wasn't it Irvine who gave away the pen, and Ando the pen that wasn't given?

Could have chosen any of the 14 saints players today but i have to hold my hands up and give my vote to a man i've criticised all season-McManus didn't put a foot wrong all day!

I thought it was Irvine at the time, but read reports that it was Rusti? I have only seen the replay once, but was watching at the ease of the striker going to ground.

official saints site match review commented Rusty.

the official site says it was Rusty that missed the header which led to Cousin getting the ball, which the led to Irvine bringing him down..

Plenty of candidates, but my vote goes to Alan Main, who might not be the player he once was but is still a bloody terrific goalkeeper. I hope he's still our number 1 next season, as I find it hard to see us finding someone better.

I think that Irvine, Ruti, McManus, Craig and Morris also played really well, and Jackson's workrate was outstanding.

Ruti for me.I thought Mcdonald put in a good shift considering he is carrying an injury. He still looks so unfit though & had to be subbed.
