Retired Football players at your work

Do you have any retired top grade players at your work?

We have a Bruce Cleland who played for Motherwell in the 80s.
I dont remember him at all but we do get people coming in who recognise him.
Boy he loves it.His worst moment apparently was missing a penalty
against Celtic in a cup semi at Hampden

We used to have a guy called Ian Gardener who worked in our office,sadly he died a few years back,i remember being told that he was a decent footballer in his day and he strutted his stuff with saints back in the 60s or 70s...........tried to look him up in archives and what not but no luck.............dont know about footie but he was a cracking golfer (incidently,he passed away during a round of golf)

Alec Caldwell worked beside me when he was at Saints.He was a really nice guy,I used to get complimentary tickets for Muirton but you had to go in the stand so I didn`t always take them cos I preferred to be in the ground ,standing.Changed days.

Not working with them...but the council deals with Jim Docherty's company a lot - never realised this until chatting to him and i actually used to be in regular contact with him when i worked with Purchase Ledger. :D

Also, met George O'Boyle this morning in the middle of road rage with lorrymen ootside the foundry - i believe Bear maybe works with him?? :?
