This may just be me being a grumpy old ****er, but I am getting heartily sick of people just cutting and pasting huge swathes of text from the Saints Official site (and other sites for that matter) and posting it on here. Fair enough if you want to post a link or a snippet, but whole articles. It's just downright laziness IMO. I'm certain that the vast majority of forum members read the official site anyway, and as I said there is no harm in posting a link or paraphrasing the article. If I'm wrong and this doesn't bother anyone else I'll happily **** right off. Have a nice day. :D

Enjoyed the angst, I'm with you on this one Jimmy. Sheer laziness of the younger generation.

Ahh the internet isn't what it used to be in the old days before these young whippersnappers got in about it. I remember dial-up connections, MS-DOS, Internet Explorer v1.0. These youngsters don't know they're living with their cutting and pasting and their official websites...
For what it's worth I mostly agree, a link should suffice.

In my day you only got the Internet in black and white, and you had to wind it up using a winch at the side of the PC to get it to run!
I agree too, though. And another thing that's been bugging me lately is people quoting entire conversations just to add one line at the bottom - you only need to quote the bit you're responding to!!

while we're at it, this practice is even worse when images are involved. In the thread on Saintees lookalikes for example do we really need to see O'Boyle and Craig Charles over and over again? It was funny the first time.......

Agree with this one for sure, why do ppl feel the need to constantly repost quotes, pics etc over and over again when we have already been through the thread.......... :?

ah well i suppose this was aimed at me cause i posted a bit about the kids easter football thing.
i never thought posting an article on here would cause this much anger, sorry.
At least this time i put it in a topic that was alrady open and i felt it was relevant and would be easy for people to read!
it had nothing to do with laziness and I am not going to bother starting anything stupid over it. Just thought people would want to know about it because it was a topic that seemed to have some intrest surrounding it.
And i am not that young and have gone through suffering dial up connections to!
i dont know what the world is coming to when cutting and pasting manages to annoy so many people honestly its a very very pitty thing to get wound up about there are many more things around these days that should get you so annoyed!
Is this topic not posted in the wrong forum anyway?

Ok... well, I think im going to have to disagree with everyone and say I find it incredibly useful. Being stuck out here in china, where im sure you all know the net is regulated, almost all of the british news sites are actually blocked!! This extends to the official site and the temple! So when you post a link i'm unable to read it...
...now i realise im very much in the minority, but is it really that much hassle to scroll down an extra few lines??

thats just what i thought - there are worse things in the world than dragging the mouse that wee bit further!
that must suck not getting much inforamtion on the web.if there is stuff u want copied from temple or the official site just send me a private message and i will paste it all for u in a message! might save some argument :)

Can't you just use a proxy? How the net is regulated in China is a joke, right?.
But anyway that's a different story.

I was just thinking this myself (was tempted to repeat the whole of your quote :***: ) and am tempted to exercise my right as a moderator to move/lock this and give BH a slap across the wrist for allowing it to run & contributing to it.
I personally have no complaint about items from the official site being pasted here when relevant, but do get naffed off with full quotes being repeated time and again. :x
That doesn't bother me to much, but when the pics such as in the Lookalike thread get quoted over and over again it gets a bit confusing, which i am guilty of aswell mind you.
chill the **** out people  :!:
