Just read that Morton have bought the family stand from St Mirren and will be rebuilding it on the Wee Dublin End, which is usually not used!

Yup - train to Wegieland and then from Wegie Central to Cartsdyke - 2 minutes from the ground.
One thing to watch out for though is that St Mirrens MethaDome opens next weekend so there will be more traffic / bigger crowds on the trains (not to mention the additional used syringes littering the place etc)

We go into this game having had only one & half games(didn`t turn up in 2nd half against Huns) since 27th Dec. Morton are always in your faces & will be up for it so we will have to be up for it as well & treat it like a cup final if we are to get anything from this game.

Morton v Saints, first division match of the day next Saturday, between two teams on unbeaten runs. Morton, unbeaten in 4 and the mighty Perth St.Johnstone , unbeaten in ???? I cannae remember it's been so long . We want to win , they're desperate to beat us. Has all the makings of a great game. Hopefully a good travelling support and I for one love the fact that I can stand in the corner, watch the match, and smoke myself into oblivion....****ing great
Seeing as we never had a game today and maybe, just maybe the postponed game from today might take place this Tuesday I have no idea who might play. What I do know is that, how we came away with only a point last time at Cappielow is a ****ing mystery to me. Morton are a very average team and I expect us to be far to good for them this time. 3-1 Saints....Unbeaten run no more....
Thoughts....

I also think this will be a very hard fought game, Morton are not a walk over, and as mentioned have a decent record at home.
I am thinking that Saints might very well sneak this one 2-1. We just have to grind out the results.
Teamwise I would go..........
Main
Irvine Ruti Caff Anderson (Not sure on left back situation)
Swankie Morris Craig Sheerin
Jacko Savo
Subs: McLean, Moon, Hardie, Millar, Samuel

Millar had a decent scoring record at Morton but it was nothing special. 29 goals in 165 games, but only 4 of them in their first division season when he played 32 matches. So most of his goals came in the 2nd division.

Any need for the condescending post? Just because he slagged off your post, he hasn't been the only one, surely the sensible thing would've been to point out his mistake and leave it at that? I didn't know Millar's nickname was Midge, does that make me ignorant as well?
As for the game, I can see another draw here. I fear our lack of match action and lack of goals may affect us. That said, Savo and Hardie have had extra rest so should be fighting fit for this one.
I reckon 1-1 with Savo scoring

Good problem solved, is savo fit? If he is I can see him and homer upfrontI have a feeling he is more likely to go with jacko purely because in the 2 games he hasnt done a lot wrong. Confidence will play a big part with this lad at such an age and for that reason alone, I think Jacko will get the nod.

Does Morton's stadium use parts of old ships?
Last time i was their the stand was full of old, worn out planks of wood and just wondered if they were part of a ship or is their stadium just really old? (Or more likely my bad memory serves me great as usual!!)
Will be going on Saturday and how much is the 208 bus. I have already booked and just wandering how much money i got left for drink afterwards. I have been on the bus before last season and the season before but my memory is really bad and cannot remember if anyone could tell me that would be great.

As "easy" a 3-pointer as we'll get this season. But this is the first division, so goodness knows.

Grady is injured unfortunately. I think you need 600 fans to get behind the goal open. With the lack of football over the past few weeks, you never know.
Hopefully the irate bloke that was in the home end of the Main Stand will be there again. I thought he was gonna burst last season when the "Davie Irons, yer a wanker" chants started.
Interesting what John says about Holmes. I'd reckoned McInnes would go with Holmes plus one but that probably won't be the case if he doesn't think he'll win much. I just worry we'll get done physically and at set pieces since they are a team of giants. Surely he won't play 4-3-3 again though, as he did last month.

Sorry Mike didn't mean to suggest that.
I haven't a clue how we will line up. I see benefits in both. I do think we would boss the midfield with Liam and Jody in there. I would like to see us get them turning. Pretty sure their centre backs would be happier against Homer though. He may be used to soften them up.

Morton have only lost 1 home game out of 11. I thought they would be something of a diddy team but they really have climbed up the table since October time.

Only 0-0 in Scotland. I know Savo went off injured but Holmes and Savo isn't working anymore. Time to bring Peaso back in?

this isnt going to end well if we carry this on, ok fine we're still on a great unbeaten run but its not producing enough wins. I think we're missing a good few goals and unable to kill teams off when we should

4 goals in the last 8 games is , quite frankly, absolute pish!

A bit disappointing but I thought we would be lucky to get a point before the game as Morton are probably the form team over the last 6 to 10 games so have to be happy with another point. Just as well there are other teams dropping points or we would be out of it by now.

Livvy get 4 in one game and we take 8 to get it.
Don't think either Sammy or Holmes are the options for us. Neither seem to contribute the goals they really should, considering they call themselves strikers.

With the competition for places up front they have to be scoring or be dropped.
Providing that chances are being created. If not then we are just boring.
Teams are happy to sit back as well, which doesn't help. But we need to be getting through that.

OK our goal record isn't too impressive in recent weeks but FFS we're still top of the league!!
Far too much doom and gloom - let's take a big support to Dingwall next Sat and get right behind the team!

just home - the delivery is terrible upto the strikers at the moment and we looked very poor around the penalty area. we should have had 2 penalty in my opinion and the referee actually awarded one of them, only to listen to the morton players moaning and award it ON THE LINE of the box...
referee - pish poor.
performance - decent but lacking
what happend to savo? worrying.
and for the record. sammy was great when he came on, looked a threat.

Back in - a bit deflating but still getting points. Thought Gartland had a good debut. Three penalty claims turned down and hit the bar, so not all doom and gloom. Many said they'd settle for a draw. Well youv'e got it. Still clear with games in hand and another week closer to the line. Not celebrating but not despondent either. A goal would be nice.

I honestly believe we need the kind of luck that only a Pearly King could bestowe upon us.

The ref got it right on the freekick on teh edge of teh box despite teh fact taht he originally gave the pen. On the Jody pen i thought it was a stone waller.
Hit the bar from a homer header which had teh goalie beaten hands down. I liked teh 3 at the back formation today which allowed Irvine and Craig to puch on a lot more. It will be interesting to see what 101 things about Dels tactics :-)
Savo looked like he had a hamstring injury.
Overall happy with a draw but we are just missing something up front whaich would give us that little bit extra.
Came out behind a couple of guys moaning about a draw saying that they are too scared to lose, taht we are not pushing loads up the park and all that mcInnes is bothered about is winning the league. HELLO ARE WE NOT ALL INTERESTED IN THAT!! Playing 2 attack minded wingbacks and 3 at teh back disproves that theory in my mind.

Just go have a look at the league table and see how many games Morton have lost at home...... I'm happy with a draw! Humping Dundee next week will make it all seem better! We havent lost anything really in the long run here, our games in hand over 2nd and 3rd will see us in good stead I am sure.. Dunfermline will see this as a bigger problem than us... reasons to be cheerful?

Irvine was brought down outside the box and Jody dived. However, I felt you should have had a penalty when Walker diverted a cross out for a corner with his arm.
Some of you lot should be ashamed of yourselves. An old dear was struggling to get down the stairs and it took the lone Jag to help her. ;-)

This is getting embarrassing. It's all very well having a solid defense, but if we can't score, what's the bloody point?
I read this forum quite a bit as I live at the other end of the country and, to be honest, there are a quite amazing amount of fuds who post during the games.
3 points clear with 2 games in hand and a draw against a team that have lost 1 at home all season. Unbeaten in 16 games which is our best record for 13 years and odds on to win the league. Yet it is nothing but moan, moan, fu@$*ng moan. What is the point of posting "this is pish Saints" midway through the 2nd half of a game you are not at??
I picked out one quote but it was one of numerous idiotic posts from people not at the game. It comes to something when you have to log on to P&B for some decent chat.

Temple reports up now - thought we played well enough but lacked conviction in front of goal at times. Defence is as solid as ever and Garters had a good debut - certainly not a man to take crap off anyone. Midfield was excellent but up front we struggled. Savo did well early on (not sure why he went off) and Homer had a couple of good headers including one off the bar. Sammy did ok but he was easily crowded out and lacked support as the game wore on - Homer seemed to be carrying a knock.
As for the penalties, thought Jody's and the handball should have been given. Irvine's was a close one but ref, or rather the linesmen possibly got it right. However given it was a last man challenge and Irvine was lining up a shot why was there no card shown?
I'm happy enough with the result. Crappielow is a rotten ground to go to (and not just for the lack of legroom) and they'll cause other teams just as many problems. We may not be scoring many goals, but right now the defence looks as good as it has all season and that is a big confidence booster going into next week.

Savo did well early on (not sure why he went off)
He asked to come off. Looked to me as if he tweaked his hamstring.
