I disagree with you there Linky - for me Bonhof was superb for the under-21's as described by Terry Butcher at the weekend. His job was to groom young players to make the step from under-21's to senior international football and he has done that, especially if you look at the squad now with Gordon, Gary Caldwell, Steve Caldwell, Darren Fletcher and James McFadden to name a few, with others coming through (the likes of Kris Boyd, Jamie Smith, Shaun Maloney and Craig Beattie).
Results may not have been good, but at that level it is about developing as a footballer rather than winning most matches in order to benefit the senior squad in the future IMO.
Maurice Malpas would be amongst the favourites I imagine being he was the assistant to Bonhof - although a possible new job for Alex McLeish???
Totally agree with Chopper  - Bonhof was a victim of his own success really. By developing players like Fletcher, Faddy, the Caldwells, Gordon, etc and getting them into the full squad they became unavailable for him to pick even when they were still young enough to play, meaning he had a weakened team and got some crap results.
Bonhof was one of the few good things to come out of the Berti era.
