I like the bridies and pies at Station Park, Forfar. Not only are they bloody good they are also very reasonably priced.

the food at McD is the opposite, not terribly good and overpriced. I welcomed the introduction of Steak pies, but they are impossible to eat as they just fall to bits.

I have eating one of the McDiarmid ones down to a fine art - peel the top layer off, use a coffee stirer to eat the meat - then eat the pastry! Deeeeelicious!

I only eat a steak pie at McDiarmid - i'm not daring enough to try other places yet! I'm bussy fugger!

EDIT: infact, i lie, i tried a Bridie at Dumfries and it was Henry Honking!

Couldn't agree more - just glad we don't go there too often as it usually followed by a fish supper as well :***:

I think the pies at McD are excellent and the pricing is very reasonable in comparisson to others in the league and doesn't seem to have changed for several years (unlike the gate price). The pies at Dundee and Midden are pretty crappy with the Dens ones being particularly poor. Forfar does indeed have good food. Haven't really bothered with food elsewhere this year so I can't comment but I seem to remeber Clyde having over-priced shite.

Editted to add: The Bridies at East End Park are the business.

I'll occassionally buy a drink but never buy food and there's two reasons for that. 1. i'm a tight git and 2. the thought of the food kept at a warm festering temperature for several hours puts me off!

Further to point 1, I was gobsmacked last week at the prices at Dundee - 30% more than at McD - they think they are an SPL club clearly!

Chicken Balti pies at The Albion are top quality! Also, the steak pies at McDiarmid are excellent value for money IMO.

As for the worst - St. Mirren's grub is generally poor, as is the muck served up at Ibrox.

Hamilton must win the award for the worst food. Not only is it awful but they charge a fortune for it as well

speaking of pies at McD - is it just me or are they becoming harder to get one of these half time essentials?

sick of going there and ending up with a rubber hot dog!

I think the food is good at McDiarmid. The pies, steak pies and hotdogs are all pretty good I must say.

Prices are not bad at McD when you go to places like Dens - Last time when they ' ran out of change' about 10 mins into the game, they were rounding up prices!

The bridies at Forfar are spot on of course, but the pies are rubbish in my opinion. 'lump of grease' was posted missing on the pricelist when I checked after.

Agreed! A fish supper from North Street chippy is a pretty essential ingredient in any trip to Forfar.

I like the Saints steak pies, they're good value and unlike some previous posters I find them generally easy to eat. Except on the odd occasion when they're hotter than the sun and I burn my tongue.

The pies at Hamilton have been utterly dreadful on our last couple of visits. I remember terrible pies at Pittodrie too from when we were in the SPL. Been to a couple of Motherwell matches in the not too distant past and they weren't great either.

I think we get very good value for money from our pie stalls, no complaints from me (for once!).

Ok, as a exiled, what is the price for a pie at the footy?

At Sydney FC games a pie, 600ml coke and a cup of hot chips is $14.00, which is roughly 6 pound give or take a little.

As a season ticket holder I can also get there early for the members only BBQ which is $5.00 for a sausage on a roll with onions and a beer.

The Chairman of the club usually cooks the bbq so its even better watching him cry when he is chopping up the onions. If he is in a good mood he will charge you 10 bucks and he will let you eat and drink as much as you can get into for the hour or so that the bbq goes for.

Responsible serving of alcohol my ass I say :***:

At McDiarmid the normal pies are £1 and the much better steak and gravy pies are £1.20. The extra 20p is definitely worth it. A small coke (300ml??) is £1 too. They don't serve chips. Prices at other grounds for pies are generally closer to the £2 mark.

Looks like our prices compare pretty favourably with the Aussie ones.

I'm biased but Tranmere's Hot Dogs are quality... they deep fry them or something so that they have a wee crunch about them, lip-lickingly gid!
