  1. So, just to clear it in my own head... Gretna get a cash injection, the media cream themselves, and applaud their achievements despite being hindered by a tiny support. Glasgow rangers, with arguably the largest resources in the league, still felt the need to over pay, cheat and bully, get caught and punished, reinvent themselves to avoid further fiscal punishment, carry on over paying and bullying. And the media cream themselves and give them inaccordant coverage despite them having achieved far less than they should if they had used their resources responsibly and honestly. Hearts cheat and overspend and are punished, but all we hear in the media is how fabulous their fans are. Likkl st johnstone defy the odds year on year, achieve some of the best euro results in recent times for a Scottish side, win the first bit of silver ware in our history, etc etc, despite a small fan base, and what do the media do? Deride, belittle and worse -ignore the positives. Not saying I want the same inane fawning given to gretna, but for christ's sake, was some coverage of last night's match too much to ask for? Be very interesting to see what is made of the home leg...

Had no signal in the ground or would've updated. Rode our luck at times but came out strong in the second half and floored them a bit with our goal and near miss. Wright and Spoony lost possession cheaply a fair bit, but otherwise can't fault anyone. Great performance and result. As for luzern fans attacking Saints' fans - one of the youngsters threw a can at a luzern fan and got a kickin, or so I heard. Stupidity, but no mass brawl or anything shameful. Apparently the police didn't bother with it. Buses took us 2 miles to the ground and back. The police didn't want a march. Would never happen at home. Well organised. 6 bendy buses crammed full o saintees if all shapes and sizes and ages. The bus was JUMPING on the journey back with all the repertoire in loud voice, jumping and rockin the bus and waving to the miserable looking luzern fans outside. Stand up/sit down if you hate Dundee, knock knock, Stevie may, George o'boyle, Dunkeld road, etc, etc. best bus journey I've ever been on! Oh you'll never see a coagie in Luzern was a good one. Sorry about the bbc and their usual nonsense.

I know the chances are more remote than the remotest outpost in the world that has been moved even further away. But I've been speaking to a couple of people from Georgia about possible routes to Zestafoni. Georgia is my favourite country in the world. Was back there last year. The FCO may warn against travel to some parts of it, but, unless the Russians decide to invade again, it will be braw.

Ridic decisions. There should be no matches in any of the countries on account of war. Sport is supposed to be outside of politics, yet UEFA doft a hat to Politics by saying "no Russian or Ukrainian teams can play each other". Pretty confusing decisions, and contradictory? or?

  11. Simple answer to that is to get along to some of the youth games this season and see how good these lads are

  16. Not a chance, Rodgers and Kitchen will also be back up, so you're already looking at 6 players who can play centre back. That's more than enough.

  17. i'm not sure there is a doubt about the budget, rather how much it is going to cost to extend Tommy and May's contracts. Perhaps Muzz too. If these are close to being sorted out then the club would know how much it's got spare.

  18. I agree you should only vote if you saw the match. But for future games, viewing it on TV should qualify a vote.

  30. Perhaps a mention due to the support last night, who (it appears from pictures and videos) were absolutely magnificent. Considering that we are constantly berated for our poor support, c. 1000 folk in Switzerland singing like that was a real achievement.

Saints were excellent last night, especially with some key players missing. Luzern are a decent side, they passed the ball about well going forward but maybe lacked a decent final pass. We've certainly got a great chance of going through but they will think they can score in Perth at least. The support was absolutely brilliant again, tremendous atmosphere. I didn't witness any of the previously mentioned trouble but as Andrew and Letham have said apparently it was just a daft laddie throwing a can rather than anything organised or such like. I've got a very sore head just now.

  34. Saw him here in 2011, he was carried onto stage in his chair, very frail. He was carried by his band most of the time but there was a 20 - 25 minute section where he was electric! Brilliant guitarist.

Pass about well. Quick on the flanks but final ball generally poor. Better than Minsk, but so are East Fife. On a par perhaps with Rosenborg, if not a little bit better.
