  1. There's three schools of thought. The first is those that believe we should pay our players 5 quid a week and that we are some absolute newt of a football club with not a penny. The second is those that believe we are too tight as a football club and should spend what we don't have. The third is somewhere in the middle. Those that see through all the nonsense of school of thought one but don't want us to become the next Rangers or Hearts or Livingston. The third lot are the ones who are right..........

  2. He makes a reasonable point which you're free to argue against, if you can. He doesn't deserve abuse.

  3. Thoroughly welcome the move from the FA. No place in football for sectarianism, racism or homophobia of any kind. To deliver a ban of 10 games clearly illustrates the severity of the abuse given to McLean presumably for solely being a Roman Catholic. More worryingly is the way in which this was reported by a Scottish tabloid which made no mention of sectarianism whatsoever. A long way to go until we can move away from this poison.. a disgrace. http://www.theguardian.com/media/greenslade/2015/jul/24/daily-record-sanitises-story-of-player-banned-for-sectarian-tirade

  4. Its no use chopping changing or giving them 10 / 15 mins to see what they can do, they need a run in the team and the angry brigade to get off there backs.

  5. I think we should be enjoying this current "era" for as long as we can, instead of moaning we've not got enough players. Nothing lasts forever sadly.

  6. I completely disagree with this. I don't want us to settle for safety and then play experimental line-ups. I want us to be as ambitious as possible and strive to finish as high up the league as possible, and of course I want us to "chase the Euro Dream" again. And I would strongly hope that Tommy Wright and the players want that too. We absolutely must play our strongest team in every game. If the young players want to play, then it's up to them to prove that they're part of that strongest team, just like Stevie May did. Last season with a few matches to go we had the ridiculous situation of people on here saying we should throw in the towel and play youngsters, even though we were only a point or two behind Dundee United. Fortunately, the manager had no intention of ever doing that, and that's why we finished fourth and got to qualify for Europe for the fourth year in a row.

  7. Swanson would complete the team in all honestly. If we can't sign him because we have one player to many on the wage bill you have to question the resignings of Caddis and wright.

  9. For those saying we desperately need an injection of pace and creativity, our team lines from the 12/13 season when we finished third make interesting reading... Aside from a brief period with Mehdi Abeid in the side we were pretty regularly playing a midfield something like: Millar, Davidson, Cregg, Craig. Strikers rotated between Hasselbaink, Maclean, Tade and Vine. I'd love Swanson in, but if we've got most of our squad fit I don't think we're hugely short.

It's simple it's clean? Who would want to wear a difficult top that was dirty to play fives?

  11. I prefer a striker with an eye for goal, not one with an eye for a Joma top. (apologies if it was a top other than a Joma)

  12. Very positive from the FA. Absolutely disgraceful to see sectarianism in this day and age. No excuse for if what so ever. Some education classes wouldn't go a miss for Kirk Broadfoot.

  13. Seems Saints players love "going viral". Firstly Dylan Easton's bin headers were seen by thousands upon thousands, now a 9 second clip of Graham Cummins getting his eyelid stuck in his tracky top. Let's hope that isn't the most fame-inducing thing he does playing for us! https://twitter.com/MidgeyMillar/status/624557833279946752

  19. Worst case scenario and nobody else comes in, might we see Tommy experimenting with Kane a bit if we're lacking a spark? Maybe out a bit wider like the first half at home against Alaskert, or playing slightly behind Sutton alongside Maclean while still making bursts forward. More of a supporting role to keep him playing regularly in the team, developing his game more, but without the pressure of leading the line on his own (which I'm still not convinced he's ready to do yet). When May was here we saw how he worked well cutting in from the left, giving us the little bit of unpredictability that we were noticeably missing without him here last year. Maybe something similar with MOH doing the same on the other side. And have we written Cummins off already? I haven't seen anything of him yet so don't really know what kind of player he is. Pace? Delivery? Can he skin a defender?

  23. Why would I start a new one exactly?? How many do we need ?? I might have left this a few days but given the small number of tickets we have got, I thought it prudent to give everyone a heads up as well. I am very public spirited you know.
