  1. Joe The Throw asked SixtiesSaintee, BabyChunder and self to thank all the Exiles for taking time to vote for him and his fellow team mates. Not only did he answer the numerous questions thrown at him at our table but bought us a couple of rounds of drinks in to the bargain. He hardly had a minute all through the dinner to eat due to people asking for autographs and pictures. Every request by the kids was accepted with a big Irish smile. He is a credit to the club and I am personally extremely pleased he was awarded the Exiles trophy. Danny Swanson scooped up the majority of the awards on the evening but on behalf of the Exiles we had the opportunity to extend our thanks for his professionalism. A huge mention needs to be made for Paul Paton. Paul won an award and in his very honest acceptance speech he stated that due to past history that he recognized he was not a very popular signing with the saints fans. He was inundated with fans during the evening telling him we were wrong. We have one very happy new saintee in our squad. Thanks Paul.

  2. A huge thanks to Steve McQueen for adding once again so much fun to the forum over the season. In addition, every season he is always there or thereabouts. Also pleased for my old mucker slf for finishing off in a high position. I have known him for nearly forty years and he tends to always finish bottom of the class. Though I only finished fourth, I am pleased being an Exile who obviously knows fleck all about saints that I achieved this. Lastly a request to the likes of Edstar, Rickardo, BabyChunder, Ghostie and KinoullKicker.....any chance you can try harder next season to make it more exciting at the top ????

  6. There was no mention or insinuation of TW throwing the game in the post. What the poster was getting at was had we progressed we would have had to travel almost as far as China to play the 2nd round tie, which for sure would have caused some logistical and financial problems. We certainly let that tie slip out of our hands and brutal was a good description- Ando nearly lost an eye! I bet I wasn't the only one leaving McD that night after drawing with Alashkhert thinking "that that was my lot" of watching European football with Saints. This team are amazing.

    Chris Sutton

IS it just me or does Chris Sutton have a special talent for rubbing people up the wrong way. He seems to make inflammatory comments which are designed to rankle, for example he's on the BBC this morning saying that Davie Moyes won't get another job in the English Premiership and will have to go work in China. Never liked him as a player at Celtic; but he's even more annoying as a pundit. Discuss.

  12. He was brought in to save hem from relegation. He did the job but he thinks he should be managing a big team.

  13. The hard fact is that at any club, a small percentage come through the ranks to make a first team appearance, let alone become a regular. A large number of boys come and go, some ending up at the Forfars, Montose, Clydes of this world, or at Junior football A clubs return on their investment in youth comes from the one or two they get game time out of and then sell for a decent sum (like Hibs are looking to do with Cummins for example) Some clubs seem better at it than others, but no club will have a conveyor belt of talent year after year.

  14. yeah, big Sam off. Didn't see that one coming. Off to spend more time with his family. Poor bastards...

  15. So another prodigious talent 2 years ago is following a lot of other really great prospects out the door. Anyone shed some light on our piss poor return from the young guns coming through? I'm a huge Kane and Thomo fan but is that the success ratio nowadays - 3 players including May to years of nurturing. We aren't a buying club so some where down the line we need to start producing good talent instead of relying on an outstanding first team coaching staff who must be on every radar in the country.

We did indeed lose them all. Thistle drew with Hearts and lost the rest of their games after the split.

    Tommy for Rangers

Scobbie was played in the middle against Alashkert, I thought it was strange when we had Caddis that could have played there. I don't for a minute think the game was thrown though. They were dirty wee bastards in that game.....

    Tommy for Rangers

Are you seriously trying to suggest Tommy played an under-sterngth team in order to throw the tie? Absolutely no chance. Tommy was livid about that result and he's made it pretty clear in the past that he has ambitions for us to progress in Europe.

Young Brown did make me laugh on Sunday night when he said that he was hoping we could draw a European destination where he only had to charter a double decker bus for the trip.

    Run in for Europe

ICT is the one that surprised me as well. And you have to say Plastic Whistle have done pretty well to get top 6 with even less than us. Did we not lose all five games the first time we made top six as well?

  36. Well done Abernethy and thanks Steve for the work and time you put into this comp. As for myself, my predictions have struggled this season and actually doubted I would break the 100 mark. Hopefully this will continue next season where I'm hoping for a better performance

  39. Has he though? He started the season very well, but has since suffered from a slight dip in form. Mannus has done extremely well since returning to the team and is justifiably maintaining his starting place at the moment.
