  1. I’m not going to lie, I would be extremely disappointed if our club captain signed for Aberdeen, Hearts or Hibs - especially considering we have offered him a very good deal to stay. I know people people are banding round the “no loyalty in football” and “it’s a short career” even the usual pish about “if another company offered you a pay rise at your work, would you not take it”..... There is a lot to be said for the fact that he is a club captain being offered the chance to sign a relatively lucrative, relatively long term contract at a team where he is the first name on the team sheet, the manager, players and fans love him and they gave him the platform to transform his career. Stick around, Joe and get a big money move down south in a year or so....

It's almost the worst draw we could have had. The worst one would have been Celtic at home. With nearly 5000 of their fans in a small ground it turns it into a big advantage for them, but at a half empty Celtic park there will be no atmosphere to speak of at all. We were unbeaten in two games there last season, drawing both. I completely understand Saints fans saying f**k going there, but the one good thing is we won't be just giving them money like normal, it's shared so benefits Saints as well. I love the idea of Saints fans rallying round, making a day out of it in the city centre and getting right behind the team. As mentioned, their support will be poor and flat that day. When you think back to 1800 pished up Saints fans at Dens and the atmosphere created, even half of that at Celtic could be brilliant. Would certainly be a lift for the players used to less than a 100 of us there. Absolutely gutted when the draw came out, but f**k it we're stuck with it, might as well try to make something of it. Every Saints fan that can go to this should try to get along. Be good if the club offered first 4 buses free or something, try to drum up a bit of support. A couple of grand of our share of the gate/ tv money shouldn't be too big a hit. Beat them at this stage and it's a clear path to Hampden

  3. We have played Celtic four times at Parkhead in the Scottish Cup. 1936 won 2-1 Jimmy Beattie both goals 1969 lost 3-2 Hall equalised for Saints to make it 1-1 Celtic went on to lead 3-1 Connolly scored late consolation. This is not what is reported in Manifest Destiny, as they mix it up with a league game at Muirton which Saints led 2-0 at half time and lost 2-3. Hall and Connolly scored. 1986 lost 2-0 2003 lost 3-0 Saints have only played Celtic once in Perth in the Scottish Cup, that was in 1932 losing 4-2 Jimmy Benson scoring Saints goals. Lost semi final at Hampden in 2007 2-1 Martin Hardie scored.

  4. And Kerr is a far better centre half than McKenna. I'd be gutted to lose Kerr to anyone at the moment. If he continues to progress at Saints for another year or so, he might even catch the eye for Scotland and be worth serious money.

The company that do this for the clubs, get their footage from the TV cameras at the game. On Saturday, the BBC just had one camera at the game; it should be better for Livingston match and future home league games.

We have knocked Celtic out of the Scottish Cup at Parkhead in 1936 2-1 with Jimmy Beattie scoring both goals. So it is time to do it again with Tony Watt getting two goals.

I never go there for league business. Scottish Cup is different in my eyes, I'm going. Hope others also make the exception.

  10. Never mind £1m Aberdeen where asking for upwards of £4m for McKenna that’s a more realistic price .....plus add ins

I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt just now but agree it could be better. The footage of the St Mirren and Dundee games are much better than the Hamilton game - I wanted to watch it back to see the foul on Kennedy that lead to the first goal but I couldn't really make out what was going on because the camera is so far away. Wright's responses to Gary's questions seem much less chippy than he was with Megan and he seems to have opened himself up quite a bit to doing different interviews which has been good. I think the interviews have generally been decent too.

  14. This was my first game since we beat St Mirren back in October. Pleased with the result, shame it wasnt a great spectacle but you cant have everything. I thought Jason Kerr was outstanding - really very solid and there was only one time that I thought he was caught out (by an admittedly poor Hamilton side). For all that everyone is raving about our attacking options (rightly so), its clear that its the defence that is responsible for our league position. Its a while since I have seen such a balanced side and one with so many options from the bench too. I was also really impressed by Callachan. I think his was one of the most underwhelming signings in the summer and I had forgotten all about him until he made his debut. The fact that the team didnt miss Muzz shows that he performed very well. Disappointed by Kane - I really want him to be successful but for all his hard work, he made some poor decisions. I cant see him getting the chance to start many more games. Any stattos know when we last scored that early in a game?

  15. Those that are saying that have probably wanted Liam Craig left out before he went to HIbs as well. That year he signed a pre contract with Hibs, he played every match up to the end of the season and even scored the winning goal against Motherwell that secured European football.

I am in the process of buying it to watch the games live. At the moment. I get to see us when we play Rangers and Celtic on their TV channels. Other than that it is BBC highlights. I am looking forward to every game irrespective of quality. Having been brought up on old black and white TV's anything is better than nothing. But living in Cyprus you are not always guaranteed getting a reception. Roll on Wednesday night 9.45 ko here

  18. So basically Rangers paid us half a million quid to borrow Mikey for a bit while he was injured. Love it. Welcome back!

  19. I heard someone mention this the other day, it was Paramount Bar in Aberdeen. Mentioned briefly in this article under 1995 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/scotland/1770821.stm
