  1. Not so much do we need him, more would we want him Can't disagree with any of your comments, this bi-annual rhetoric that eminates from McD is Oh so predictable and quite frankly becoming tedious and boring. Brown has already stated he has no intention of passing the club to any family member so in my opinion a new fresh stimulus is required(not taking anything away from what the Brown family have done for this club, but every business has a cycle and it may be; not saying it is but could it be this cycle is now heading towards a downward trajectory). With a requirement for new and fresh investment, positive attitude, improved communication to move forward

  2. Yesterday Jeanfield entered the William Hill Scottish Cup for the first time. We were drawn away to Coldstream in the first preliminary round to be played on Saturday 10 August. The draw was also made for the second round and the winners of our tie will be at home to Linlithgow Rose or Preston Athletic with a place in Round 1 at stake.

I've been fortunate to make a few trips having been too skint to go to Monaco and bitterly regretting not going ever since. Many people I've spoken to that did go were equally as skint as me but went nevertheless! 1. The main memory of Trondheim was my cousin saying to me at the end "Fergie, the only thing that could top this would be winning the Scottish Cup". Little did we know how prophetic that would be! The night in the piano bar after was magical and something I'll never forget. 2. The night with the San Marino team in the bar in Yerevan was bizarre to say the least. Seeing some of their guys in Saints' tops is a special memory. 3. Crossing the bridge in Lucerne and looking back at the beautiful city we were in was up there too. Hopefully it won't be long before more special memories are being made!

  8. I remember those times, when I was full of hope. Cant wait for us to announce our new striker in a couple of weeks. Geoff Cunningham, recently released by Harchester Town, 3 goals in 4 years but has suffered with injuries so his record is actually 3 goals in 6 games. Offers us something different.

  9. I asked the girls in the ticket office. They reckoned lower than last year but to be fair I don't think they really know. If we really are up between 15-25%, I do wonder why. Other than the good run pre-Christmas last season was fairly meh, no marquee (or anything close) signings over the summer, no marketing campaigns. It would be odd. Edit - it's probably the new dugouts that's bringing them in.

    Season Tickets

Car park pass not in with my season ticket. I phoned and was asked if mine was a renewal if so use last seasons pass. There was a problem with the printing and they will be posted next week. You would have expected that they would have inserted a note explaining the situation. When I went to renew my season ticket my 49th in a row, the man in front of me a new season ticket holder asked if it included entry to the sectional league cup games and was told no. I didn’t want to contradict the staff member, although I was fairly sure the two matches were included. Checked renewal letter when I got home which confirmed my thought. These are fairly simple things that you would expect them to get right.

Or taking a train ride to the top of a Swiss mountain to find that of the 300 or so people at the top you knew about half of them. Then taking the ski gondola back down and while walking to the bus stop into Lucerne being given a lift by fellow Saintees who spotted you on the road. Surreal.

  14. In Geoff's day there were four other directors plus Duffer. I fail to see how SB thinks he can run the club on his own as well as a house building firm. I think that is demonstrated by the irregular and ill thought out statements from the current chairman around the playing budget. We were a well run club, not sure that's the case now.

Monaco was only away game I made but a fantastic experience. 2 days by bus through Kelvin Travel was the cheapest option to get there. More recently the home games were great nights. Like Blueheaven said , I never understood the folk who complained about these games, absolutely where we want Saints to be. I was at School when Dundee Utd and Aberdeen had their great European nights and supporting 2nd Div Saints was a tough shift. I must admit to take great enjoyment from the fact Utd have been a league below us while we have been in Europe recently. It does make a difference, I know a few lads from Auchterarder and Crieff etc who still support Dundee Utd, I have no doubt that if we had been in Europe in the 80s while they were growing up these guys would be Saints fans. Off track a bit but I equally don t understand folk who say "its only the league cup, its the league that's important ". This is a cup we have never won and I would love a league Cup win . I d happily take a season struggling near the bottom if we got a win in either cups. European nights and Cup semi Finals are what we ve been blessed with over the last 15 years but been missing over the last couple of years.

  17. Two reasons it won’t happen: they’d have to pay them big bucks, and the Broons are control freaks (which seem to work well for them).

  22. Going even further back I can remember when Saints' PR consisted of a billboard (borrowed from an Evening Telegraph seller) outside St Pauls saying "Match Off". If they were really making an effort it would say "Match Off - Snow".

  23. Aye but we could be bigger if people wanted it to be ,this “small club” mentality is really starting to get on my tits , get some of the so called money we have spent on some new faces before we’re all doddling along to our “small club” in the 1st division where a lot of people on here seem to believe that’s where we belong .
