  1. Kane has his uses. I doubt he'll ever score 15-20 goals in a season but he works hard and would be a decent foil for a goalscorer. Certainly don't think he's anywhere near as bad as he's made out to be at times.

  2. I cannot understand the continual negativity towards Kane. Anyone sad enough to follow your instructions to see the lad miss a goal needs to seriously question if they are Saints fans. Maybe look a wee bit after the miss and see Kane sitting in the stand after he has been hooked and see how distressed he was makes me sick! This bating of of our strikers is pathetic and it's following a similar train to that of Zippy who also was so bereft of confidence he was glad to leave. We are St.Johnstone - we have no right to demand 20 goals a season strikers and if some supposed fans went to more games and encouraged our boys we might have more success!

  3. Why? We're already out a cup and the last window shut 7 months ago, they've had plenty time to sort out deals. Its now been a month since the club agreed a deal with May, since then hes ****ed about and ruined it, come back and said he'd take it, and the clubs responded by putting in a reduced offer and now a loan offer. A loan offer one month after being told Aberdeen want him gone and will let him go for nothing, we put in a loan offer. Just a week after we lost out on Hemmings, who wanted to leave his club and was allowed to leave for nothing, because we put in a loan offer. Its amateur, and pulling something out the bag (most likely we'll now finally return to the initial offer for May) doesn't excuse the absolute ****ing mess they've made over this.

  4. I'm confused by this - is it £20 a month or £540 a month? Maybe this could be the loophole we use to finally get Stevie May - agree to a huge contract, then deduct half of it for lunch.

  5. He will sign next week, with McMillan's contract being ended by mutual consent. The talk of a loan deal is a non starter, but serves a purpose that it indicates that Saints are still interested in May. Don't think for a second that Tommy doesn't use the media when he needs to. Would expect Anderson to go too, depending on Gordon showing he has fully recovered from injury. Tommy will also need to do a repair job on Kane's confidence. Feel for Kane as when he came back from QOS, he looked full of confidence and hungry, but that seems to of evaporated over time. He is suffering from not having a proven goalscorer alongside him.

  6. We paid a fee for Danny Grainger after Davidson and Mackay. Over 10 years ago now though.

  7. Not always. Andrea Pirlo and Graeme Le Saux (just off the top of my head) were bone idle. You need a mix in a team at work ... I'll take someone smart, inspirational and a bit lazy over some of the absolute plodders who only know how to put in a shift, if that's what the job needs. Hard work is hard, but anyone can do it. It's not a talent and is often a substitute for effectiveness. I think that's a big part of the Kane issue in that he makes up for playing flair with graft. But, as others have said, he's not being played best as a lone striker. Same as the work analogy - you can transform performance by finding someone the right role.

  8. If Tommy wants a dozen goals from our wingers what do you suggest a good return from our main striker is?

  9. Really entertaining game last night, the academy boys unlucky to lose with some excellent performances, hopefully a positive sign for the future.

  11. Darren McGregor, Ryan Porteous, Tom James all out injured for Hibs this weekend. Add to that the fact that fellow defenders David Gray and Lewis Stevenson didn’t get much of a preseason and Sean Mackie is suspended it’s looking like the Hibs defence is significantly weakened. Goalfest!! Oh wait we don’t have a striker...

    Season Tickets

Seems like the fans have gone the EXTRA MILE this season. If only someone else had gone the EXTRA MILE to get an important signing done.

  13. Yes, very much the same. Absolutely no reason the club couldn’t be taking £40-50 off each paying adult on most home games if they had stuff on for a few hours beforehand... Food, drinks, merchandise etc. The Muirton Suite is about drab as it gets. It’s like a school dinner hall and I forget that the club shop is there half the time.

  16. I would recommend SJFC purchase and develop Barossa Street club to give fans a base in town from which functions can take place, strips etc can sold and busses to away games can be run. This could develop into a significant income stream

  17. Could of written this myself. Season ticket holder since 83, was relatively young when the slide happened so I guess it's been mostly good times, with the last 10 years being the peak. However I have found myself more and more disillusioned with it. Seems to be certainly from an 'outsiders' perspective that an apathy has set in since the cup final. Winning a cup or reaching a goal I guess can go one of two ways, you get a taste for it and strive to repeat it on or you relax. It seems to be the latter. To be fair I think part of my feeling is not just Saints fault I feel this way, its Scottish football as a whole. Allowing The Rangers to exist and ride rough shod over the whole system, where others went to the wall showed up Scottish football for what it really is and quite frankly, what's the point. I have my season ticket, however personal circumstances at the moment mean I don't feel obliged to go and I don't really feel guilty. I certainly didnt feel the need to turn up to our past home games this season to watch such an unfinished product.
