McCann quoted as saying "Without being disrepectful SJFC are a modest club with a modest squad". No Neil you're not being disrespectful at all you pr*ck!
-
Er, & we've just given him a contract extension.
-
Leaving him up front alone competing for high balls is hopeless. They simply give possession straight back to the opposition. Even with Johnstone beside him Hibs were winning tthe ball easily. McGinn was running straight through us. We were extremely fortunate to hold on for a draw. As for Midge,if he's fit he should be on the bench as we don't exactly have many guys who can come on & make a difference.
-
Aberdeen only got May by offering him a 4 yr deal to make up for the lower wages they're paying him. Even then they'll be payiing him much higher wages than we could offer MOH. I think a full season on loan is the very best we could hope for & even that is probably beyond us if he keeps playing as well as he is now.
-
Pedro says MOH isn't his type of player & judging by some of the duffers he's signed Pedro is correct!
-
sorry to see Midge go but how many games is Craig going to start this season? I can't belileve he was given a 2 yr extension.
-
Apparently he scored 2 goals in 32 appearances in his 1st season at Colchester & also suffered a cruciate ligament injury. Were the 32 appeances during the period he was on crutches?
-
Craig has been unimpressive so far this season & looks slow & carrrying a bit of weight in comparison with years gone by. Frankly I was surprised when he was given a 2 year extension - bet he bit their hand off when offered it.
-
He played some part in most of the pre-season matches & looked fit & healthy. The only injury TW mentioned last week was Alston's..If Chris is fit I'm surprised he can't even get a place on the bench. If he's injured then why no mention of it?

MOTM Saints 1 - Patrick Thistle 0 - 19/08/17

Muzz closely followed by Paton. -
Halls Angel basically summed up the matter. I'd just like to add a few points from my perspective. I'm disabled & in a wheelchair & I buy a numbered bay in the last row at the botttom of the hill because tryiing to go up or down the hill in a chair is virtually impossible. Firstly, there's the gradient of the hill & then there's the potholes & loose stones which, if you hit either, tips the whole chair forward. Secondly, when I purchased my bay ticket & season ticket therre was no mention of you having to be there 30 or even 15 mins before kick-off. We usualy come quite early so the 15 min limit shouldn't affect us. However if I am ever held up & my bay was taken I'd have to turn around & go home. Having said that, I do know other parking bay ticket holders who pay for a bay because they are often held up & want to make sure they will have a space when they arrive.

St Johnstone v Killmarnock 25/02/2017 Saints Day
Scott1884 replied to garydavidson's topic in Saints Chat
Sums up my thoughts exactly. Couldn't believe we had 6 defenders in the starting XI with Paton sitting on the bench. Gave away 2 soft goals & despite a few good saves Zander needs a break. We hardly had a shot on target.- 197 replies

Muzz. Made a big improvement to our midfield.

There was an article this week saying that a number of Hibs players are out of contract in the summer but the club will not be entering into negotiatings with them until they know which division they're going to be in. Therefore I can't see them offering Swanson a big money deal unless they get promoted.
-
Why did the club not put out a press release to the local papers & got some free publicity? The restaurant is open 12-2pm from Mon-Fri & is often empty..........badly under-utilised.
-
Due to his injury record at St Mirren it was reported that Watson was given a thorough medical before we signed him......& he's already been out since pre-season. TW said Coulson could play on either wing & Coulson himself said he could also play through the middle...........yet to see any evidence of this. Paton looks slow. If McKay is away would this money not go towards signing Foster? I definitely agree that another striker should have been signed.
-
According to TW he was offered a deal that was way above what Saints could afford.
-
Agree. In first half Saints sat too deep & allowed Celtic to stroke the ball around. Macca was feeding off scraps & chasing the ball is not his strong point.. 3-0 down by half-time the 2nd half felt like a pre-season friendly at times with Celtic simply retaining possession. It was only when Swanson scored the pen that they began to look vulnerable. We should've tried to press further up the pitch from the start. Interestingly TW was interviewed before the match & he said Saints normally budget for finishing 10th but this season we've budgeted for finishing 8th. Said finishing 7th would be an achievement.
-
Good to read in today's Scotsman that Swanson says he's keen to earn a new deal at Saints.
-
Perhaps Dave King has lost the key to his £30m war chest..........

Agree. Also many guys that I know who rarely go to Saints games always want a ticket fot the big games. 15000 at the Scottish Cup final - where are they now?
-
Read today that O'H was 'understood' to be interested in joining Rangers & that Saints were looking for £400k. O'H & Waghorn are both 25 & O'H is playing at a higher level so if Waghorn is rated as a £1m player by Rangers how can they expect to get O'H for £150-200k? Dave King is too tight to make us a proper offer especially as him & his cronies have had to pay back £5m to Ashley & are having to loan Rangers £2.5m to keep them afloat until the end of the season. As an ex-Celtic player O'H would be foolish to go to Ibrox.
-
STV news said May was going on loan to Aberdeen & Swanson could be joining Saints in time for the Celtic match.
