I disagree. I don't think it is just the young fans at all. At half-time yesterday I switched ends from the Mafia end to the Ormond end and the amount of moaning that takes place down there is astounding. I didn't hear a positive word from anyone. One guy in particular kept berating Stanic every time he got the ball, despite the fact that he was probably our best player and he barely wasted a pass all afternoon. I don't think the booing was just by young fans - sadly it goes right through our entire support. I'm 37.

I've said that since pre-season. I predicted third back then but recent results have suggested we may not even make that. I'm 37.

Now that this season is pretty much over we need to look at how we can improve for next season. In midfield we are going to need to carry out major surgery as I don't think any of our current midfielders should be retained for next season. Sheerin, McCann, Stevenson and Janczyk are simply not good enough. They are all ineffective and are average footballers who will not get us out of this league. I suppose that in fairness we haven't seen a lot of Scrabble but what I have seen hasn't been particularly impressive. I've also heard that he is very, very lazy. So I'd probably punt him. Paul "Wizard" Sheerin is garbage. We need to get rid of this slow and lazy waste of space. He's playing better this season than last but he still doesn't do enough on a consistent basis. Two good games in a season isn't enough. I think John Henry is a good player but his lack of fitness is a big problem. We have to stop signing players who are always going to be injured. It looks like the Davester will be on his way very soon, so that's another midfielder gone. I don't know what the story with McAnespie is but will he be away soon too? Darren Sheridan has been our best midfielder this season but he should not be retained for next season due to his age. I think he'll just be too old next season to play regularly. I think in the near future we'll also see something that we were warned about by Clyde fans - apparently he struggles for fitness in the second half of the season. It'll be interesting to see if this happens with us. Don't think I've missed anyone out, so that leaves us in a bit of a mess in the summer. Hopefully we'll make a start on sorting things in January - we need to bring in someone better than what we have who will actually make a difference to the side long term. I suppose that's easier said than done. Remember the impact that Jenkinson and Sekerlioglu had when they arrived? That's what I want to see now. They came in at about this stage of the season with a view to winning the promotion the year after. I don't know where these players will come from but I hope Coyle has some sort of plan. I'm 37.

Grindlay is a decent 'keeper. I'd definitely welcome this signing as any time I've seen him he has performed well and I've often thought he would be a decent acquisition for us. He is highly regarded by the Dumbarton fans and they've seen it as inevitable that Grindlay will leave them sooner rather than later. I can't see him costing any more than a nominal fee. The only thing I would say is that I had hoped the club would look for an experienced 'keeper to complement Cuthbert rather than someone who seems quite similar. I'm 37.
