Heard from someone who had played against him.He said he was the most difficult player he had faced for years.Very fast and deceptively strong.Surely worth a go.Lets face it we will never be able to afford a tried and tested quality striker.

The fact Spoony hasn't gotten a new club should give you an indication of why we shouldn't have retained him. There's a reason that not even Championship teams are champing at the bit to sign him indicates they know what saints knew. For the last time, the revisionism with Spoony needs to stop, there's a reason he was released and it was the correct decision.

Why? People need to realise Spoony isn't the answer to our issues, he was let go for a reason. Pining after him constantly is just blue tinted fantasy. 
Did he leave the wrong way, yes. Was it the right decision based on his contributions and play style, yes. 

Highlights 
 

I like the signing of Mitov. Totally out of left field and unexpected by everybody.
I'm impressed that we've captured him ahead of some league one and even championship clubs.
Maybe some of the saved wages from clearing out the squad is going in to his pocket and helped seal the deal?
Exactly the type of player I believe we should be going for. Good player at a decent level and at an age where he can both develop and hopefully be a sellable asset.
When no signings were being announced, I was hoping that this meant that Macca wasn't going for the same and obvious targets as the rest of the league, and with this signing, that seems to be the case.

Should be an announcement made today or soon on James Brown, new contract signed I am led to believe.

Saints did the right thing, I've worked for enough shitty employers who don't give a toss about their staff to appreciate those that do.  Opportunistic by Shamrock Rovers, but good bit of business for them. Cleary would have been nuts to turn them down.  He's a ****ing human being with a good reason to be back home,  and he always gave 100% in a Saints shirt.  The club is a disgrace just now for many reasons, but let's not criticise them for treating a human being with the respect and common decency he deserves.
