  1. They might have come back out had Pedro not encouraged selfies with a crowd of the unwashed's fans on the track at the dugouts for about 5 minutes while the stewards watched on.
  2. Given that they are rivals for one position, I am always surprised at how supportive they are of each other no matter which of them is currently first choice. I suppose it's part of that team spirit that's propelled Saints to the levels we've seen in recent years.
  3. Me too. I thought Muzz was poor yesterday. I know it's his style but he just threw himself at everything and hoped for the best. I can't really remember him winning a header - apart from one at waist height. He just didn't get into the game. Paton is getting right into the position, tough tackling and some decent passing.
  4. If Saints are rugby players then that would explain why we keep scoring 3s and 5s against them....
  5. Nick Dasovic and Colin Miller for Canada perhaps?

    The muirton

Are these to be in Muir-ton?
  7. If it's going to be a punt then a punt in the style of Malcolm MacDonald at Muirton on 29 July 1972 would suffice.
  8. Ando said after the game that Boyd was his man but that even Boyd had admitted it just bounced off him. These things happen. Otherwise thought Ando had a good game, Alston his best yet and Danny stifled by 3 defenders every time he got near the ball.
  9. Given that Celtic, Aberdeen and Hearts miss this round - Saints are top seeds - not just in the North group - never thought I'd see the day! :-)
  10. Good from all, Swanson and Macca first class, but thought Spoony and Tam had right good games too.
  11. I'd give Alston time to see out the play-offs, but Dow wasn't even a certain starter in one of the worst sides to grace the top league for many a year. He seems to have some sort of inflated idea of his own worth. If he hasn't signed by the weekend then he should be told the offer is withdrawn. It's easy to blame agents, but they are employed by the players. If he wanted to be here, he'd have signed in the last week. Most clubs just seem to roll over to this nonsense. The will he, won't he stuff just brings us closer to next season with gaps still needing filled in the side. I can't think of any other area of employment where you can tell the people that have offered you a job, "well I might, if there's nothing better comes along in a few weeks."
  12. One great day at McDiarmid Airdrie failed to step up to the mark Grant, Treanor and Ward Put them to the sword And we partied 'til well after dark
  13. One great day at McDiarmid Park Man U came to play - what a lark As we sat in our pews The ground blew a fuse And we all had to sit in the dark.
  14. A young man called Dave Mackay Played in shirt one, two, three, four (no lie) He played five, six and seven Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven And filled up the subs bench forbye!
  15. A team in Perth known as the Saints, Found Armageddon brought with it constrains, Top six every year, And a cup full of cheer, No wonder Neil Doncaster faints!
  16. A young man named David MacKay, Came from Livi for a price not so high, He brought with him Muzz, With a head full of fuzz, And together they made Saintees fly!
  17. So I cannae win, but just to get it started... One great day at McDiarmid park, Our Aggie set oot for a lark, Spread green all aroon, For the Souness buffoon And proved her bite was as bad as her bark!

    Top Six

As long as there is potential to finish one place higher in the league, then the manager will continue to play what he sees as his strongest team. Money talks!
  19. I thought Sutton looked desperate to make some sort of impact and was try too hard (if that's possible!). He was getting in Zippy's way from time to time as he tried to get to balls he'd no chance of getting.
  20. Please listen in and let us know what you think. Our thanks to Saints TV who allow us to use some of their audio as well as our own stuff. But - please remember this isnae the BBC - it's volunteer radio. You can listen in at 7pm Tuesday on http://tunein.com/embed/player/s252100/ TUESDAY TEAM TALK 01.pdf
  21. This is how the BBC describe a penalty. Feckin priceless... "Attempt missed. Steven MacLean (St. Johnstone) right footed shot from the centre of the box is too high."
  22. BBC Scotland can get it right when there is a will. Landward is one programme that has really improved in recent years and is far more entertaining than Countryfile which I would assume has a far larger budget. Obviously the football rights are a little more complicated than perhaps we imagined, but it shouldn't be beyond them to put on a show where every fan of a Premiership club can feel that they got a fair representation of their team's game. Never mind, I would imagine that next season they won't be covering the championship any more.
  23. And despite Hibs and United taking part in a cup quarter final his week, you'd have been hard pressed to know about it from the radio or TV. The media have spent the whole week slobbering over Delia and the Molde game.
