  1. Actually, if the latest figures quoted are accurate, then we are not far off this. Main stand holds 3,100 (give or take a handful) and the padded seats and directors boxes take up around 550 seats. That leaves 2,550 for the normal fans. If we have 2,300 already between the main and the east, then only 250 available seats. I'm guessing the ormond ST's wont be massive, but alone might not be just too far off that. Even if you assume say 100, then that's just c150 available, which at the rate of sales, may be gone in a couple of weeks. Of course, the Ormond sales could be higher than 100 and given continuing covid restrictions, the section behind the dugout might need to be off limits, so not impossible that we are there already I would imagine the club may be of the view that a fair chunk of ST holders dont go to OF games (sure it was 40% a few years back) so might still look to shift fans, but not sure that would be a clever move.
  2. Was thinking exactly the same thing. Let's all be honest, if we lived in Turkey, we'd be doing the same. I dont think the Saints database is particularly up to date. In an ideal world, the club would have/still could, fire out a tweet to ask fans to e-mail the club with their details to be added to the database. Dont want any saints fans to miss out. I would imagine the club may go down the route of ST holders being allowed to buy x number of extra tickets, I.E ST holders vouch for fans. Obviously if the club see loads of requests from folk with very obviously Turkish surnames, they could do a wee follow up. Back in the day the club would have issued vouchers at the game(s) before hand. Maybe do something similar, I.E if your name isn't on club database, only way to buy a ticket is to buy for Galatasary game and next league game. If a genuine fan cannot make next league game, club can deal with those request on an individual basis.
  3. Am I missing something? Why speculate over where the away leg will be? The problem lay at out end not in Turkey. With the travel restriction lifted for the teams, the home game will be in Perth and the away one in Turkey. It only would have to have been a neutral venue because the Saints players weren't allowed to travel to Turkey and the Galatasary players were banned from entering the UK. Because of the exemption, we can travel to Turkey in the same way PSV will be able to.
  4. Given that for whatever reason the club are so reluctant to say how many ST's we have, the attendance tomorrow will force their hand in some respect. Will they not announce the attendance and by default the absolute minimum number of ST's we have sold? Clearly not all ST holders will be able to attend, but if say a crowd of 2,300, then we know it must be at least that.
  5. Surely if saints get hit for 50k, then the SFA should step in and cover the cost? Its through no fault of Saints that we would take a hit. Surely they are the folk liasong with the scottish and UK governments being the footballing body in Scotland. Same must apply for other scottish teams too. I would expect Ian Maxwell and Neil Doncaster are in constant contact with Daints over this and trying to find a venue. On the venues, dies it need to be an actual stadium with a UEFA licence or could it be someones training ground? I know real Madrid used their training ground for games last season, but it was essentially a stadium. Just thinking we could maybe use something like France or Germany's version of St George's park.....
  6. You have to zoom in and available seats are shown
  7. Tickets purchased/claimed. Really straight forward once site was up and running. Can imagine buying a matchday ticket must be a piece of piss now.
  8. Totally agree. On the financial side, he'd be mad to seek a permanent move, especially if thinks there is any chance he makes their first team. But, as you say (and I think is the case) he is surplus to requirements, does he want to waste a year of his short career sitting in the stand or risk a loan move that doesnt work out. Best for him (and sai ts TBH) would be if he was here on a tears loan and signed a pre contract in Jan, if he wants to stay and Rangers dont want him. Equally, they could pay up his contract and release him if he pushes for it, as what happened with MOH.
  9. FFS. We on friendly terms with any clubs in France, Netherlands etc? Although, there is a scenario we find a venue and they dont and we get a 3-0 win? Galatasary has a chequered relationship with Covid. They had a farce of a pre season game in Greece where they had a toys out of the pram moment and refused to follow local guidelines and friendly was cancelled. Let's hope they do the same.
  10. Problem he will have is that if he stays at Rangers knowing they font want him and he gets a couple of loans that dont work out, he ends up becoming a free agent at 22/23 and not the best reputation. Fraser Aird and Little bring 2 recent examples of this at Rangers. Clubs less likely to take a chance on that kind of player. He might be of the view that his days at Rangers are numbered. Get a move to a 'lesser' club, get regular game time and look to get a good move. If I was saints, that's what I'd be selling to him.
  11. Feels very much like club are identifying the weaknesses in the club and addressing them on the playing side of things. Added benefit of things like a head of recruitment is continuity. If as well all fear, Davidson gets headhunted, the core of the setup will still be there.
  12. I'm in the same boat. That's why it is a bit frustrating. Still not been able to see the team play, along with the majority of ST holders. If some folk are in the know and the club are waiting in permissions etc, then it wouldn't take much for the club just to put out a short message to that end. I'm local enough that I dint need to plan travel etc, but not everyone will be in the same boat.
  13. Rooney would be the example of why offering more than 1 year deals is the way to go, but the risk is you are left with a player on books that you are stuck with for a longer time that doesnt contribute. Did Duffy not get a 2 year deal? A loan signing is all good as low risk and arguably can get a better quality player than you can afford a wage for, but then if they are good, then you get no fee. If say we had signed Middleton outright, you could argue that if he had another good 6 months, he would be quite a sellable asset in the Jan window. On Middleton, I wonder if there is scope for an outright transfer or certainly a loan with option to buy? He needs game time and knows he will get it here and that the manager likes him. The fact that 2 players are mentioned might support this. Buy/get Middleton on the basis we take player x on loan too.
  14. Still no word on likely crowd allowed in for fleetwood game? Is it not in just 4 days?
  15. Would be good, but unlikely. Hastie is a much more realistic scenario.....
  16. Agree with this. I think he would get more money, but realistically he could be getting a current club already based on the last 6 months and he is the same at the start of this season, then he would surely get a championship level club coming in for him in January. It may be that the club look at a reasonable offer on the table for a player with less than 12 months on his contract and think better to take the cash and use to protect other assets than hope Rooney plays like the 2nd half of last season. I think for him, he would regret going there. Not because he wouldn't do well, but I'm not sure it is the right club for him and he'd be better served holding out for better. End of the day though, he was at ICT a year ago and to probably quadruple his wages from then and double them from now, would be a lot for a youngish guy to turn down. He'd do well to have a conversation with Liam Craig and MOH.....
  17. As someone who missed out vs PNE, I was frustrated, but was the right way for the club to allocate tickets. I dont think anyone who buys a sT should be penalised just because of when they bought it. Fair enough if club made that clear when they went on sale, but would be grossly unfair if someone bought a ST now and was prevented from getting one for the European games. Anyway, we should be allowed all ST's in by that time anyway. Problem will be non ST holders who attend regularly getting a ticket if we have a restricted capacity. No saints fan should have to miss out, we have already (rightly) missed too much.
  18. I would love for a journalist to go and speak to Stark about saints success. No, none of could have envisaged the last few years, but as you say, all fans wanted was a promotion charge and top flight stability. Not struggling vs QOS, Clyde and Stranrear. He was always negative about saints and Perth in general. Obviously of a generation and very old/new firm centric, but guys like him and his attitude have and still hold scotland back. I think Galatasary would be more winnable, but as pointed out, PSV tie would give us a bigger chance of a longer European run if we loose. If we get Galatasary, then I would imagine it will be an earlier kick off to fit in with Turkish tv.
  19. Will be interesting to see if the Euro draw has much of an impact on the ST sales. You would assume it would. Whoever we play, it's not a game anyone will want to miss out on.
  20. If we were to be able to knock either team out, where would this rank in achievements by Saints? Assume just behind the 3 cup wins? PSV would be best if were to get knocked out as we would assume their seeded position. Galatasary I would say is slightly more winnable (not by much), but they are likely to be unseeded, so we would not get a seeding if we are in conference league. The list of teams in that scenario is frightening, Spurs, Roma etc. What an envious position we are in, facing these calibre of teams on the back of a double winning season. Go back to the Stark/JC days and think how that would have sounded then!
  21. Ha ha, oops. Possibly the only way he can be stopped from word domination as a manager is for him to be out of it!
  22. I doubt it will matter too much. All 4 teams are relatively well known and once we know which of the two it will be, I'd imagine CD will be pretty glued up. Actually if anything, it might be an advantage as he will get to see 2 competitive games between both the teams. Obviously hoping for a really dirty game with loads of injuries and suspensions and a wee covid outbreak just before whoever it may be plays us. For me, would be best to avoid the PSV/Galatasary tie winner. Better for the glamour, but infinitely less winnable.
  23. Agree 100% with this. Loads of players that were hyped up and only very few turn out to be anywhere close. Hearts in particular are bad for it. Hickey is the only I can think of that has ability to match the hype. On Cochane in particular, he could be the prime example of a manager ruining a players potential. Looked OK when he burst through, but Levein ruined him. Over played, under coached and maybe let the hype go to his head? Actually exactly the type of player a Tommy Wright could do wonders with, so could see Killie as an option for him.
  24. I would imagine that given we have c2,000 - 2,500 ST's sold already (seen 2,400 a few places) then if limit is 3,000 there would likely be no or very little general sale. By the time you take into account stewards, media, players, officials and opposition travelling officials, we'd be about the 3,000 already. Obviously each stadium configuration will be different, but Aberdeen may benefit from having some uncovered seats and quite a bit of hospitality boxes. Hopefully restrictions are eased more before our games, but I would be surprised if for the EL qualifiers we get much more than 25% of capacity. Celtic are getting 9k, which is 15%.
  25. Preston have just said that due to problems they have cancelled their stream and folk getting refunds. Between that and the sai ts tv audio not working, seems this is a no go.
