Jenko82 got a reaction from Havana Saint in St.Johnstone V St.Mirren - Saturday 30th April
Pretty much done with this team and manager.
The clockwork like substitutions of MacPherson and May, the tombola subs getting chucked on in desperation. It's all clueless and boring to watch.
The thought of 'trying not to lose' our way to a playoff final fills me with utter dread

Jenko82 got a reaction from Havana Saint in St.Johnstone V Dundee Utd. Saturday 5th Feb
I feel like we have turned a bit of a corner, the team spirit looks much better and we have certainly added quality to the squad and we even look a bit more threatening upfront. But I agree with what others have said, that we will need to take the game to teams to start turning draws in to wins.
Siegrist had 2 really decent saves and a shot off the underside of the cross bar, the red card unfortunately nullified our attacking intent for most of the 2nd half. With County v Dundee meant this match was 'must not lose'.
Defensively we look really good now Cleary looks a great addition to the squad, good with the ball at his feets, wins headers and seems to like a battle.
For the St Mirren game I would have Sang replacing Hallberg in midfield as we need to try and maintain the quality in midfield, that I don't think we would get from Davidson or MacPherson.

Jenko82 got a reaction from Ginger Bakers rebel army in Ticket system
I actually thought it was a clever way of distributing a lot of tickets very quickly. The season ticket holders would likely prevent selling to away fans through self policing and the potential was the game could have sold out many times over through sales to season ticket holders alone, but the club bargained on there being a balance.
I used my ticket to buy 10 for family and friends and my dad's season ticket to buy an extra 1 for someone who was struggling on WAP.
The ticket office would have been unable to shift that number of tickets in that short space of time. I would not be surprised if the same system is used for the LASK game.

I’m strangely not nervous at all, just buzzin. Think it’s going to be a party like atmosphere whatever the result. I was proper nervous especially before the SC final this year but this feels different.
All the pressure is on them.

Luv it Sixties! The only way to be, maybe I’ve missed an update? but if this game goes ahead in an empty stadium it’s a huge leveller, as is the game being so early in the season, with a very fit and professional squad and management. Make no mistake this Saints team will be hard to beat, very well organised, streetwise and laced with real quality.
The assumption among most is that Saints cannot top the best season in their history, well getting past this mob and making the group stages would be a fair stab at continuing progress after last season’s heroics, bring it on!
wishing you all the luck going!
coys!

I love that everyone watching knew that spoony would check back onto his right foot, but he does it so well that defenders cannot counter it.
The freedom he has to express his ridiculous skill with the ball at his feet is down to the manager freeing him up to play that role.
This team and manager have become so much more than the sum of its parts.

And are also under performing and could do with the big red reset button being pushed for the season.

Jenko82 got a reaction from Johnny B in January 2021 Transfer Window
I agree I think Holt would have been a more astute signing rather than Bryson. As well as printing youth we do need a Matt Butcher type signing, a player at a good age, fairly tall and athletic and has played at a good level and needing first team football.
There may be some mileage in promoting the young guys to the first team but as you say a bit of a gamble.

I think you are correct on both counts with regard to sanctioning of signings and Davidson needing to find a way to get the squad to perform.
I suppose in my last post I was getting at, was investment being needed to play the current system. I think there is perhaps other systems that would get the best out of the squad without too much tinkering with personnel.

Good solid performance - bit nervy at times but the way the ref was dishing out the cards to Saints was unreal. Glad to see Kane get his goal and the one we lost was a bit of a fluke but I'll take the point.
Zander MoM for me but McCann was excellent in the middle of the park.

Saints involved in a pivotal match today, the result of which could either kick-start Celtic's season or, get their manager sacked. A win or draw for Saints would ensure the latter. (IMHO)

I am not sure how assuming that things would be okay if limited crowds were let back in by now.
Surely any limited crowds would have been season ticket holders in the first instance (who have already paid), so by opening the stadiums with all the measures needed will only go to increase expenditure.
I can imagine SB will have budgeted on a worst case scenario, but even so I would think things will starting to get a bit pinchy.

Hard to disagree with your five but I reckon the Luzern home leg has to be in there - absolutely magical night. In fact, the away leg was bloody good too.

A really enjoyable game yesterday. I would have taken a draw at half time, but came away from the game a bit aggrieved that hearts managed to find an equaliser.
Stevie May looks to be getting back to his best and having already surpassed the Tony Watt goal haul of last season I would suggest a better fit for the team.
The much maligned Chris Kane was good yesterday and was a bit unlucky not to score, my only gripe would be that he was knackered by about 75 mins and would have been good to bring on Henry as I think he would have had quite a bit of joy against John Soutar. Although it was a very physical game and we had already used 2 subs by half time.
Also an observation I think a number of players have stepped up their game (Spoony, McCann, May and O'Halloran) and taking responsibility to make things happen now that Kennedy is away. I think we were guilty of playing everything through Kennedy regardless if he was having a good game or not at the detriment of the team.

If that penalty wasn't a rub of the green then I don't know what is! Can't think any other time in the match where they were unlucky, not very good yes, but not unlucky.
