You hit the nail on the head "Sadly football culture seems to attract idiots"

If you PM me your address or a paypal account i'd like to cover the cost or send  a new scarf for your laddie - many of us on this forum and 99.9% of those in the stands at home games are football folk, not the idiots who come and go .....

Kevin or Paul? I played park football with both in Edinburgh. Kevin was a bit of a show off with step overs etc but Paul was just a hard player of the time. He used to 'help' our pimary school team with advice - he had his favourites and advovacted hard tactics. Great guy  even though a bit broadly spoken, even I had a hard time understanding his Embra accent.

Hegarty was class. I was gutted that Totten couldn't convince him to stay on for another full season.

Was that the longest league league game in Saints history? The irony is that Livingston's time wasting was probably what killed them. Had they changed their approach and had a bit more faith in themselves they probably would have won that.
Given how bad things looked at this time last week, I think you have to say four points from these last two games is a pretty good outcome and has given us back a tiny bit of breathing space in comparison to how things could have been.
My feeling is we took Aberdeen by surprise by hitting them with two up front and particularly Kimpioka's pace. But yesterday Clark was essentially playing as a midfielder for most of the game which meant Kimpioka was playing on his own against three big defenders who were ready for him and he just didn't really stand a chance. Having two strikers on the pitch is a step forward but we need to be brave enough to actually use them as strikers or it becomes a bit pointless.
Sidibeh and May both looked lively when they came on and I like our striking options at the moment but I'm not sure the best way to use them has quite clicked together yet. And when DJ had to go off it seemed to kill off our gameplan a bit.
Just a general thought, but surely something has to be done about the amount of players now going down holding their heads to get games stopped? I think if players with head "injuries" had to go off the pitch for five minutes to have these injuries monitored/treated you'd very quickly see a big reduction in the number of players claiming to have had head knocks.

Horrible game to watch, however playing so badly and get a point, will do.   Just a word on todays opponents- I hope they get relegated and never darken our door again, anti football , time wasting and falling about 'injured', an absolute disgrace.

There are several now in the city between large commercial ones and small studios, but there is talk of Live Active shutting facilities. A top level facility would benefit the club, could be used by other local clubs/teams and there would be a draw for Saints fans to take out memberships. Even if it helped cover the costs of running it, then the players would benefit.
There seems to be a growing trend nation wide in the fitness industry.

Like most others, I can't really understand the subs on Sunday.
Why those players and at that time, it didn't make sense.
We weren't under any real pressure, and then after going with one up front, all we did was invite wave after wave of Dundee attacks.
But let's face it, it's been proven in the past that Levein just loves to defend in that way.
I don't agree. For me, all it does is tire out the defence, both physically and mentally until a mistake inevitably happens.
And why Max? He's hardly the Roy Keane type that's going to shore up the midfield.
I feel sorry for the lad because I think he's just not ready for this level yet and he's getting pushed into it every week. A quick loan at Dunfermline or the likes for the rest of the season would help him progress.
What's up with Gordon? How many of those points we've dropped from winning positions have been down to him making a hash of things?
It's becoming so frequent that we'll have to start running a sweepie on what time of the match he'll give a penalty away in.
In these days of VAR, the old saying of "don't give the ref a decision to make" is truer than ever.
He's one of us and his overall game is decent, but this recklessness needs to be coached out of him and soon.
Why was McGowan dropped for such an important game? He's been one of our most consistent performers.
It seems that Levein is a manager who has his favourites, and no matter how they perform, they'll be on the teamsheet most weeks. That's the only reason I can come up with as to why Sprangler has fallen out of favour.
I agree with those who say that Kane should have got the nod if we were trying to manage the game. He would have made himself a nuisance and held the ball up in their half which would have given our defenders a breather.
I also think he gives us something we don't have with any of the other forwards at the moment, so although I realise it's more a financial decision than anything else, it would have made more sense to keep him, so he could come on from the bench when his skillset was required.
Also, why keep Sidibeh on when he was knackered? Clark might have nicked an all important second because that's what he does.
What did Maloney do with Robinson when he was recalled? He's come back half the player he was. He seems to have no confidence and constantly looks for the easy option, or in other words, pass back to Considine.
In this set up, Scott Tanser would have thrived. But we don't currently have anybody on either side to do the wingback job effectively.
Which brings me to this, I know Levein likes three at the back and one up front, but it's not the only option.
With the players we have we could easily do a 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 and everybody would be in their preferred positions.
Keltjens at RB, Robinson at LB, since he seems to have lost any ability to go forward. Take your pick of the CBs, or whoever's fit.
DJ at right wing, because apparently that's his actual position. Carey on the left, usual suspects in the middle.
And two from the multitude of attackers we have on the books, or maybe one behind the main striker for 4-4-1-1.
A setup like this might not only be effective, but maybe even entertaining.
Although there's a long way to go, Levein's so far doing the job that was given to him when he signed up, in other words, keep us up. We're far from the basket case we were when he took over.
But let's be honest, some of the decision making is baffling and the football on offer isn't going to win over any new fans.
But as long as we stay up, he's done his job. Then we can find out the kind of team he really wants over the summer.

The problem as fans is we don't see what is happening in the training sessions, analytics, person to person interactions.  We can only judge by what we see on the pitch.  As the varied thoughts on how players perform, we see things differently as well.
For me, the question has been our lack of stability in selection yet those out of form retain their places.  We play so narrowly; we gift half the pitch to our opponents.  The negative first halves gift the ascendency to the opposition.  It tells the players the management don't trust them and I believe that hasn't helped the players.  The lack of forward passes, not helped by few showing the endeavour to create space for one.  The tendency to pull back further and further.
Some say Levein urges them up the park.  Well, if they won't play the way he "wants" (I'm not convinced he wants them up the park) drop them for players who will play up the park.  His substitutions have been poor, ill-timed, and far too often remove any threat to our opponents.
The negativity is seen by the empty seats, even the lack of engagement on sites like this one.  It's groundhog day, repeatedly.
Can we do better, yes!  Will we, I hope to be convinced.  If County start to convert even a third of the chances they create we'll be in big trouble.  Will Levein/Kirk actually have a go at three points from the first minute, not the last ten?
Will Levein allow the new players to have a few games to bed in, gain match fitness and they'll astound us or will it be change and change and change until the end of the season?

We knew what we were in for each week with Davidson and MacLean, yet it seems he carried on going. After years of sticking by us while we've been terrible, it seems odd to me to decide to stop going when we appoint a new manager.

Thought we did well in the first half but rode our luck a wee bit. Pitch seemed to be a problem for us as well  was fairly fast-moving and we struggled/overhit passes.
2nd half started ok - Adamas overhead effort and Considine hitting the bar.  I had no problem with CL taking Benji off if he was tiring but he should have put on an out and out striker instead of one of Max/Connor. Our shape after that caused us all sorts of problems and we sat too deep - Robinson needed to get forward more.
Havent seen the pen back but while we can all complain about how soft these are until we get more streetwise in the box - both defensively cutting out the Gordon-type challenges or up front being a bit more aggressive in forcing defenders to come in on us we're going to suffer at the hands of VAR. Would be good to see the club come out and highlight when VAR isn't favouring us as well a lot more.
2nd goal was a bad one to lose. As for the challenge on Mellon it looked like a 50-50 but David Munro should never referee again after waiving play on with 2 players flat out - the fact the Dundee physio came on while the ball was in play showed how serious it was.
In terms of the team - Matty looked good, Benji and Adama showed in places that they will be effective. Kerr Smith had a decent game but struggled to link with Olufunwa. Thought Keltjens especially though looked a bit lost - both him and Sprangler when he came on seemed to be well off the pace.
