RandomGuy got a reaction from PauloPerth in Saints vs Hibs LC Semi 30/01
We'd probably have won the Cup if that was the case this year

You're proving my point with the first line. To folk who watched Saints beat Hamburg, the entire line up will be legends and they could rattle off the eleven starting players easily. Yet here you are saying they don't deserve to be called legends.
My point is in 30 years the generation of fans who havent been born yet likely won't consider everyone in the cup winning season legends, they'll know precious little about players contributions over their time with us unless they sit down and research it, so will look for the most notable players. The line up will be remembered, I've no doubt, but the legendary tag simply cannot be applied to everyone.

If you look at tables at the time of the split over previous seasons you can maybe gauge the "magic amount", same for the final points totals for teams in 10th.
2014/15 - 6th place: 44pts, 10th place: 37pts
2013/14 - 6th place: 48pts, 10th place: 31pts
2012/13 - 6th place: 44pts, 10th place: 37pts
2011/12 - 6th place: 48pts, 10th place: 32pts
2010/11 - 6th place: 44pts, 10th place: 31pts
We're currently on 32 points. 40 seems to be the target to beat the Play-Offs, while 50 guarantees top six. We've nine games left to play.
Motherwell (H), Partick (A), Aberdeen (A), Partick (H), Ross County (H), Hearts (A), United (H), Killie (A)
To me, we should be looking for 10-15 points from that. Which should be enough for the top half.

Trialist right back looked good, but was feeling his hamstring after about 30minutes and got moved to midfield with Thomson dropping back. Never appeared in the second half.
Trialist centre back's interceptions, timing and heading ability were good.
After a fairly even first half, Saints came out in the second half with more attacking intent.
After about ten minutes, a long cross field ball by Scott Brown, which the full back tried to intercept but failed, reached Thomson on the left.
He quickly brought it under control before moving forward into a central position and lashed the ball past the keeper.
Approximately seven minutes later, a slide rule pass from Greg Hurst between two defenders was pounced on by Thomson, who raced away and planted a great shot into the net.
Near the end, the Hearts right back punted the ball from back to front, where his team mate who looked in an offside position, controlled the ball before belting a terrific shot across the goal, high inside the side netting.
The goal gave Hearts a lift, but try as they might, could not find an equaliser against a resolute defence.
In the end a deserved result. (P. S. I am not in favour of these artificial pitches, as players were slipping and sliding all over the place.)

Theres a tab at the top right to select a season, then a tab at the top of the table to choose a particular date. Split usually occurs at the start of April, although you've sometimes to skip about a bit to get the exact one.

He was booked for the afters, not the stamp, so he can be punished for it. Its clear they'll just brush over it, like they did with Hendersons dive in the Semi. Next time one of our players apparently elbows someone at Celtic Park they'll show four different angles of it on Sportscene though.

Pretty much yeah, he didnt narrow the angle in the slightest and Hemmings could easily have just rolled it in at the near post instead of smashing it at Mannus

Thats not what I'm saying at all. What I'm saying is that anyone whos still without a club in February is likely shite and its pointless pinning our hopes on some superstar thats apparently going to come in.
FWIW Reo-Cokers an injury prone, 31 year old midfielder who, thanks the openess of the Americans, we know was earning £12k a week last month. While Jennings was released by MK Dons for being overweight. Forgive me if I'd rather play Brown and Thomson and save the money for PCAs

Yup. Swanson should've been in the squad in addition to MOH, not to replace him.

We were interested in Holt, Loy and Reilly apparently. We also tried to sign Scougall, Law and Cammy Smith in January. Not one of those came off. Its the same story with us trying to sign Dow and Alston in the Summer, we wait and wait and wait and someone else swoops in and steals them.
Since his MoM performance against Hamilton he's played 7 minutes. Wotherspoons played 318...

Its Motherwell next, mind, that team who we created nothing against as they strolled to an easy victory at the end of last year.
