Another absolutely incredible night in our history. This team's track record of producing the goods when it matters is just bloody incredible.
I do have slightly mixed feelings on the result as obviously we'd have been delighted with 1-1 before the game, but given how well we played in the first half there's definitely a feeling that we actually could have won that game, possibly even by a couple of goals. I was a bit taken aback by how average LASK looked in the first half and I think the Saints players were too. They gave the ball away a lot, struggled to cope with our front three, and had none of Galatasaray's slick passing or pace.
If Middleton had put his chance away, or Davidson had buried his header, we'd have been looking at 2-0 - but then they suddenly get their penalty and the whole game changes. LASK then went on to create some good chances in the second half and it was heart-in-mouth time when they hit the inside of the post - but we'd clearly tired by that stage and the Arbroath game definitely took its toll.
That's probably the first time since Davidson took over that I've seen Saints visibly tire in a match, and we just can't allow that to happen in the second leg or it'll be curtains for us - especially if we need to go to extra-time. For me, we need to rest pretty much all of the starting XI against Dundee United on Sunday, even if that means taking a loss. We absolutely need to be at peak condition and have no new injuries for the second leg - nothing in our history has ever been more important.

One thing that struck me was how massive the gulf has become between Scottish football and other countries.  As MrBored says, winning this tie is monumental for Saints, it could change how the next 3 or 4 seasons go for us.  In the same competition, Spurs put out a bunch of youths and lose, because they absolutely do not care about the UEFA conference league.  
Supporting one of the big English/Spanish/Italian/French/German teams with billions at their disposal must be soul destroying at times.

I wouldn't necessarily assume that. Callum said that the game plan was to get in behind them with pace. Spoony doesn't offer that.

Feels a bit like the away leg vs Galatasaray: Would have snatched a draw out of your hand before the game, but after going 1-0 up and playing well, it feels like another missed opportunity.
On the other hand, LASK don't give me the fear with their individual players like Gala did. Great chance next week.
