  1. Jeanfield Swifts Ladies open their SWPL2 Season tomorrow with a match against Queens Park at McDiarmid Park Astro. Following a successful season last year which saw the ladies win the league cup - their first national trophy and also promotion to a premier league - also for the first time - they incredibly found themselves without a home. However, the club have entered a partnership with St Johnstone which will see the ladies train and play their matches at the McDiarmid Park astro. This is only the start, and it is fully expected this partnership will develop and flourish as the season progresses. As well as strengthening the team on the park, we have bolstered the off field team with a physio and goalkeeping coach being added along with a media manager and sponsorship manager. We're delighted that a few businesses have already pledged their support to the club and hope more will follow suit. The only premier league Ladies team in the Tayside area they would always be appreciative of any support.

  3. The fact she is presenting that, as well as her other BBC and BT Sport roles, automatically puts her above Sportscene duties.
  4. That is because its on Alba - not on SPFL Youtube channel for that reason also.
  5. Being in the main stand I was paying more attention to Fisher in second half and thought he was pretty poor. He never tried to take the ball beyond a man - as soon as he got it then he didnt even take so much as a pace before passing it. Shaughnessy, when he came on actually ran with the ball and looked to take on players. Thought O'Halloran tried too often to take on a man or two when whipping in a cross wouldve been the betrer option. I've said this before but Craig's biggest fault is that he continues to drift so far into the middle of the park he leaves a huge gap on the wing which, means Easton has to do more running and drags Maclean or someone up top out left, amd of course in turn means the opposition get a good run at us. Maclean should have chosen a different time to redeem himself for his Tannadice miss. Sutton being moaned at around where we were sat, but like McFadden, he is a player who needs the ball to his head or feet as he can't do the running in the same way as Kane or Cummins can. I thought he wasn't too bad on the whole today.
  6. And i think that includes the wooden office area.
  7. Part of that is listed i believe.
  8. Update and pictures on the courier website http://www.thecourier.co.uk/news/local/perth-kinross/george-street-in-perth-closed-as-firefighters-tackle-blaze-in-property-1.911898
  9. -------------- Light switch-on still went ahead. Call came in just before half 5, chimney fire but smoke spread through the myriad of chimneys in that old block of flats. Big crowd watching, and even more after the fireworks when as well as hundreds of people there were 4 engines parked up at top of charlotte st/george st causing problems for traffic to/from scone

  11. The night was a great success - we made £5690. I was working today so missed out on Off The Ball, hopefully hear some of it on the podcast.
  12. Last game of this successful season tomorrow, again, why not head along.
  13. They did indeed get promoted - which considering everything - not least playing on what is probably the worst pitch in the league - some achievement.
  14. Jeanfield Swifts Ladies, Perth's only ladies football team are in action tomorrow at Riverside in a match that could see them promoted to the SPFL2 which is being formed next season. They have already won the 1st Division League Cup this season against Hibs Development at Recreation Park. Despite having a small squad and being hit by injuries and not having the resources of the coaches and facilities a lot of the teams in the league have, they are still in a good place. Its free to watch and they would be appreciative of any support - so if your doing nothing else tomorrow, why not head along.
  15. I can't make the game either but do like going out to see Scone play, sadly with work and their fixtures, ive not made many games this season. Scone are a good side and have been improving season on season since coming back from abeyance in 2012-13 and are mid table just now - could be higher but they have not got results against a couple teams you'd expect, and ones against those you wouldn't. Good footballing side, like to get the ball down and play, not much in the way of high ball or one way stuff. Their pies are some of the best in the game - award winning pies from the Scone Butcher. There is a good committee at Scone and always made to feel welcome.
  16. They are moving into where the Dunfermline was at the South St entrance of the centre.
  17. Mixu was in the stand watching them against Dunfermline in the cup couple weeks back. Mind you, before you make too much of that he was at Motherwell that Saturday - presumably with a scythe on scouting for a job at clubs with a manager on a shoogly peg.
  18. It is not entirely unsurprising that a club in a city with a strong military history such as Perth, with both the Black Watch and the 51st Highland Volunteers/7 Scots TA having the freedom of the city, should want to show some appreciation to the armed forces. Some might argue things like this should have been done previously, before this recent invention of Veterans Day / Armed Forces Day which you could also argue, a lot of places / teams / whatever are jumping on as its almost seen as the in-thing and something they should be doing. The club have also in the past done a discounted season ticket for armed forces and emergency services personnel but that seems to have been quietly forgotten about and no longer offered.
  19. There are board meetings every Monday , usually in the afternoon I believe.
  20. You did get the impression that Madden might have been of these referees that tells the linesmen they are there for corners and offsides, nothing more.
  21. Echoing the sentiments of everyone else, that was one of the best performances and victories I think i've seen all considered. United looked woeful, but I still think that like the other games this season where we have gone behind, if this was the team of last season, I don't think we would have come back how we did. The officials were appalling, its not often that all 3 are that terrible, always have open all mics on and biscuits wasn't happy with maddden either - making comment about his dishing out of yellow cards for one foul, but it was 8 fouls by Durnan before he was booked. Fantastic win though, especially against them, and they really must hate playing us now.
  22. Nothing on back page of courier for tomorrow. You imagine it would have been if deal done.
