The fact Celtic and Rangers sign an agreement every Summer with the other 10 clubs, that theyll be liable for any damage caused by their fans, and both end up spending hundreds of thousands sorely on that every season, should highlight why a full stadium of them isnt a good idea.
Although we could always claim they ruined the car park...

I haven't voted,  I think its a bit more complex than a yes or no answer. Is he perfect-No, is he running the club prudently-yes and there's lots of questions and answers in between, I wish there could have been a middle of the road option as really that's probably where anyone should be running the club.

He's apparently a Rangers fan, and hes now pulled all his funding, even the youth stuff, out of the club, because his friend has been taken off the board.
Hes managed to get a stand named after him though...
Shows how petty folk with money can be.
I've slated Brown a lot the past few days, but I'd rather the way he runs it than have someone come in, pump money in chasing some pipe dream, and then ****ing off and leaving us knackered. Ideally Brown would take more of a back seat and allow full time staff below him to run things a bit more professional, as just now it all feels a bit dated, I don't think he needs to be involved in everything.
Nobody with money will invest in a Scottish club without some huge personal attachment to the club, I'd be massively skeptical of a foreign owner investing in us with the idea of getting it back, as you don't make money from this league.

I find it weird that over the course of this thread people have convinced themselves that the club apparently wants to get relegated (ridiculous) and has stopped spending money so that it can be sold (none of the recent investment in the team throughout last season backs that argument at all, and neither does the fact that we offered Stevie May a bloody good deal that would apparently have made him our highest paid player ever) and that somehow a Championship club is a better investment for an outsider than a struggling Premier League one (why?? and besides, we're not a struggling Premier League club - since promotion, we haven't had a single season where we've struggled or been in a relegation fight).
Also frightening that people think some moneybags investor would be the answer for Saints, after all the club has been through and all we've seen other Scottish clubs go through.
Is there a single example of a big-money outsider rocking up at a small Scottish club and it ending well?

Aye but apart from those 18, what have loan deals ever done for us?

Neither of those players were on loan though?
Alan Kernaghan was originally on loan when he came to us and obviously did very well. I'm struggling to think of many others who made much of an impact. Gwion Edwards was alright in flashes I guess.
Craig Russell also got kept on after a decent loan spell but then ended up being injured most of the time.

Names of the trialists starting to creep out.
CB is Danzell Gravenberch, a 25yo CB. Spent last season on loan in the Belgian second tier from Reading.
LB is Tyler Garrett, 22yo who spent last season on loan at Wimbledon in League One.

I had 1 or 2 beers that day but I remember being ragin that I sat on a bus for over a day to watch Kevin bloomin Thomas play up front ! Simao played too  tho pretty sure he played out wide.
At home i was happier to see Lowndes and Simao.

Slightly related, but I was looking up the Monaco game a few days ago, and the way the site I looked at listed the squad made it look like we had Kane and O'Halloran up front...

29 has always been my lucky number, for the sole reason that years and years ago Ian MacDonald was number 29 in one of the football cards series, and I had 29 copies of it.
And that's probably the most pointless piece of trivia ever shared on this forum...

I quite like them. Never a fan of the yellow away kits (would much rather see us try something a bit adventurous/different with the away strip) but the designs are nice and I prefer that Macron logo to the newer one so not too fussed about that. Pretty content with us having an 'off-the-shelf' template kit, as nearly every time we go for something more customised it turns out awful.
Clearly the home kit should have white socks though.

If that's the case - and I don't doubt you're speaking truth - then it's time to give Gordon and Kerr a run at centre back. Shaughnessy can play the last half an hour of the last home game to say his goodbyes and get his thanks, but we need to start looking to the future and if he's not part of it, he shouldn't be in the team.
