Can't believe some of the negativity re Danny.. hardly been given a chance since he came back...maybe he will benefit from pre season training and hopefully he can prove his worth...

Aye but apart from those 18, what have loan deals ever done for us?

Neither of those players were on loan though?
Alan Kernaghan was originally on loan when he came to us and obviously did very well. I'm struggling to think of many others who made much of an impact. Gwion Edwards was alright in flashes I guess.
Craig Russell also got kept on after a decent loan spell but then ended up being injured most of the time.

Names of the trialists starting to creep out.
CB is Danzell Gravenberch, a 25yo CB. Spent last season on loan in the Belgian second tier from Reading.
LB is Tyler Garrett, 22yo who spent last season on loan at Wimbledon in League One.

Forest's replacement manager, Sabri Lamouchi, was in the Monaco team that played against Saints in 1999.

Perth museum have this engraving of you waving your hankie as Joe scores in his final game for Saints after a very long career.
(Edit: this was, of course, before the colour blue was invented).

I had 1 or 2 beers that day but I remember being ragin that I sat on a bus for over a day to watch Kevin bloomin Thomas play up front ! Simao played too  tho pretty sure he played out wide.
At home i was happier to see Lowndes and Simao.

Slightly related, but I was looking up the Monaco game a few days ago, and the way the site I looked at listed the squad made it look like we had Kane and O'Halloran up front...

29 has always been my lucky number, for the sole reason that years and years ago Ian MacDonald was number 29 in one of the football cards series, and I had 29 copies of it.
And that's probably the most pointless piece of trivia ever shared on this forum...

Can someone give us a heads-up when they go bust and we can buy half a dozen shirts for the price of a pint again?

I quite like them. Never a fan of the yellow away kits (would much rather see us try something a bit adventurous/different with the away strip) but the designs are nice and I prefer that Macron logo to the newer one so not too fussed about that. Pretty content with us having an 'off-the-shelf' template kit, as nearly every time we go for something more customised it turns out awful.
Clearly the home kit should have white socks though.

If that's the case - and I don't doubt you're speaking truth - then it's time to give Gordon and Kerr a run at centre back. Shaughnessy can play the last half an hour of the last home game to say his goodbyes and get his thanks, but we need to start looking to the future and if he's not part of it, he shouldn't be in the team.

On the radio on Sunday, they apparently said that Alston was a late addition to the Saints bench because of injury/illness. I know Gordon played on Monday but if it wasn't him that Alston replaced on the bench then who was it.
The manager clearly rates LG and I think folk are overreacting to Keown's involvement against Celtic. I also think he (Keown) should be judged on what he does in a Saints shirt and not what has gone before at Thistle.

So basically Rangers paid us half a million quid to borrow Mikey for a bit while he was injured.  Love it.  Welcome back!

Can't say I'd blame him for going to Aberdeen. It's a club and manager he's already been with so that takes a lot of risk out of it, he'll get a higher salary, and chances are he'll also have more chance of on-field success. He's been a great player for us over these last few years and I think he'd go with everyone's best wishes - but it's a real pity as he was really developing here and I'd seen him as the next in the recent line of players who have stayed with us for the long haul and racked up a couple of  hundred appearances.
I know we have some cover but I think that if he goes we'll need to go out and invest in an experienced centre-half/leader figure over the summer.

I'd hate to lose Joe, especially to another club in our division.
However, Liam Gordon would slot straight in there, and as mentioned above, Ando still has plenty to offer. In fact I'd be more than happy to see Gordon and Kerr get a run in the team together.
