  1. Ahem, he was actually, for Scott Brown
  2. I'll watch the highlights, and if Banks touched that then please accept my apologies in advance. From where I was standing, he was nowhere near it. If I'm wrong then that was a helluva save.
  3. Well impressed with Dunne, he really looks the part in that "Muzz" role, if anything he looks even more direct than Muzz. And his finish for the goal was sublime. Likewise O'Halloran, a very talented footballer with a good amount of aggression thrown in. Just what we've been needing recently I think. Many on here were calling for change and freshening up of the team after last week, well we got it today with those two and I hope we see plenty more of them. Good to see Wright back to his best today in defence, and I have to mention Gary McDonald. I get on his case as much as anyone but he had loads of the ball today and did no wrong. I still don't know why his goal was disallowed, certainly wasn't offside and it looked like a good clean jump and perfectly executed header. I know it was lower league opposition but the potential banana skin never got off the ground. A very proffesional performance all round. Well, almost. Sorry, but Banks didn't keep that clean sheet, the rest of the team did.
  4. A9 then cut off between Pitlochry and Dunkeld, then via Blairgowrie and Kirriemuir
  5. I have the same "app" as you rik, although I find carrying it around in my wallet allows me to see who we're playing next week wherever I may be. It used to take me nearly 8 seconds, but as my grip of technology has grown I'm now down to 5.3 seconds.
  6. Expect to see him in goal on Saturday, emergency signing and all that
  7. Anyone heading down? Two of us going in the van, room for one more, leaving Carsegate Road at twelve on the dot. Avoiding speeding tickets, should just make it.
  8. Result was poor, performance of the team was poor, and the flight delay on the return was a bummer. Other than that, another enjoyable away day with good company. Well done to all of us
  9. Maybe not so much finding a club, Monk, but finding his level, and maybe one of the smaller spl clubs would have been it. I probably saw as much of him as you and thought he would have become a good addition tbh. However he's gone now and we have to continue with those that are still here.I hope O'Halloran and Dunne in particular are given a decent run soon.
  10. Jim Spence posted a picture on twitter, looked perfect. That was before tonight's kick off, of course.
  11. It MAY just result in them looking elsewhere
  12. Mmm, think he tried that at Perth a few weeks ago and look where it got him
  13. I don't know an awful lot about him, apart from the obvious miss though in all honesty I'd have struggled to remember the guy's name. He seems to have played at a decent level since leaving St.Mirren. Wolves, Charlton, Stoke, Watford, goalscoring a bit sporadic mind you. I hope it turns out to be a good signing, he'll certainly have my support, same as anyone who turns out for Saints.
  14. The Courier just tweeted that Iwelumo is about to sign, and goes straight into the squad for Tannadice. Will also be available for semi final.
  15. Muirton definitely. Memories of some great times there dating back to the early seventies. Just seems impossible to create an atmosphere at McD, or any all seater stadium for that matter.
  16. I don't think we did try to stop them Random, the ball was in the bottom corner and our man (Scobbie)? went in to retrieve it. Their man then charged in after him and knocked him to the deck in a violent attempt to wrestle the ball out of his hands. To me the jambo was the most guilty cos it was that action that started the whole thing. And while you're right that the defense holding on to the ball doesn't actually waste time, neither does the attacking team grabbing it out the net and charging back to the halfway line gain them any time. I mentioned this in another thread and a reply I got was that only the goalie, or any of the defending team for that matter, should have the job of picking the ball out and getting it up to restart the game. Simple. All anyone suffered in that melee yesterday was embarrassment, particularly the two sent off, but one of these days someone's gonna get a real kicking in there.
  17. There is a very good picture on bbcsportscotland that shows exactly that, and the ref was right on top of them. My view was obscured by the number of bodies involved and I haven't seen the highlights yet, but the picture clearly shows Stevenson with both hands round Mannus's throat, and Mannus with hands on chest, just under the armpits. I do accept that still photos can be deceptive though
  18. No it's not Ed, and let's not argue cos I actually enjoy reading most of your posts without feeling the need to reply just for the sake of it. Can you imagine the verbals that must have been going on in there, aside from the obvious physical stuff? TW said he's watched it again and saw neither Mannus or Stevenson raise a hand, I beg to differ but will wait for the comprehensive coverage we get on Sportscene before commenting again You said earlier that you couldn't see how grabbing the ball back out of the net gains/loses time, and I agree that it doesn't, I actually feel that the guy who barges his way into the net to get the ball is the instigator of the hell that then breaks loose and therefore should be the only one shown a red card.
  19. Sorry, insert winks and smileys where applicable. You've seen it all Hoodlum, like myself, over many years, and it doesn't get much more entertaining than today. Who'd be a Saints fan !!
  20. Hmmmph, what a waste of twenty two quid!! I could've just as easily spent it on a big supermarket carry out and got pissed. Or taken my wife to the pictures and fallen asleep halfway through the entertainment on offer.Or maybe just saved it for a rainy day. Three red cards, two penalties, a hat trick, an ambulance at the side of the pitch (get well soon Muzz),a second ambulance (get well soon TC), we finish with nine men and no goalkeeper and we still don't lose. For years to come we'll talk about this game and say "I was there". There are ups and downs in every season and this result will have no bearing on where we finish in the league. And for those who are criticising Mannus, just remember the next time three wee neds are trying to give one of your mates a doing, you're not allowed to help him out in case you get yourself into trouble, you may get, beat up, or even worse you may be arrested and miss work on Monday. Or you may even miss the next game or two. As I said at the top, what a waste of money. Oh, and if that's true about the busload of Hamilton fans being turned away then I'd love to know who was responsible for that. Disgraceful.
