  1. Kane's effort off the bar was top class technique. The ball was 3 yards behind him. Maybe there's a player in there afterall and that loan spell at queens will be a masterstroke.
  2. Not going to lose too much sleep over this result. If we had ten more points on the board already folk wouldn't even bat an eyelid as long as we played well. The fact we've been sucked into this relegation battle is making everyone nervous. For as long as we are playing well i have faith we will be fine. Up until this week we've been brutal though so going to take this one as a positive because we played well.
  3. Also in the camp that i didn't like his style as a footballer but there are others I would have released first. Gave his all though and never let us down. Had some really good performances. Not a possession player though and contributed to our poor style of play.
  4. Both loan signings. To be fair both young lads did ok on Monday but i still think someone is coming in. Mackenzie?
  5. Paul Paton gone!!!! Now that's a shock. Who's coming in?
  6. Kane looked sharp on Saturday and proved it tonight. Excellent display and credit to Denny Johnstone who worked his socks off creating space for Kane. Possible partnership? Credit to all the young lads too. Gordon the pick of the defenders. Kerr comfortable. Maclean grew into the game and tried to pass the ball. Really liked the look of Ali McCann. He was battering into challenges like nothing else and showed good composure. Nice to see positives.
  7. I hope we're not hanging around waiting on O'halloran or Swanson. Would be nice to see us think outside the box for a change.
  8. The Watson decision was proof if ever we needed it that Tommy does not trust young players. That's why consistently we've had the oldest and slowest team in the league. That's also why we have a squad full of players past their prime, all with contracts, all difficult to move on. Kerr should have been brought in yesterday because Ando and Joe have been hopeless for weeks. Watson was not even remotely fit yet gets put up against the fastest winger in the league. These are decisions that Tommy needs to justify. I'm glad his patience and loyalty has worn thin otherwise he'd be out of a job by the end of the season the way things are going. A good manager knows when to move players on. It was one of Sir Alex Fergusons greatest traits. Unfortunately it's a skill Tommy has yet to master. Maybe this is the turning point.
  9. I want to blame the players, i really do but the body language of the players for the first 15 mins at home really concerns me. We stand off teams and let them dictate the game. Dropping too deep. We should have been behind after 80 seconds today. What has the manager done to address that? Why are they not fired up? Flying into tackles, unsettling the opposition? We NEED to start on the front foot at home and set the tone but Tommy has us set up like some 45 year old counterpuncher looking for a last knock out, trying to hang in there from 5 seconds in. I'm really concerned about what direction Tommy is taking us in. We've been too loyal, handing out contracts to players we should have moved on which has left our midfield old, slow and bloated. Big changes needed but we need to move players on. Time for the young lads to get a chance.
  10. Watson trying to catch Myles Storey today. Embarassing.
  11. When you consider on Saturday it took an average of around 35 people 3.5 hours to clear 30% of the pitch plus get the surrounding areas gritted then you can see how long it takes to clear a full pitch. Those 35 people were like burst balls by then - most of them over the age of 45. No way they could carry on for the full day. I'm reasonably fit and my back was killing me by half eleven. You have to remember that the snow you dig out in the middle of pitch has to be dragged 50 yards to the side and dumped on top of an ever growing mountain of snow. And it's heavy. And it's slow. So all the volunteers left on Sat and they had absolute blizzards on Sunday - another 4 or 5 inches of snow laying. Nothing you can do about that and no clearing could go on. Even if they covered the areas that were previously cleared you still need to dig that out again. On Monday they got landscape gardening company to come on (for free) to clear the pitch as best they could. Remember everyone is at work - not easy to get volunteers. By that point the thaw starts and the ground starts to get a bit soggy. Then today, it's absolutely pissed it down the full day on an already soggy pitch. I'm not sure what else they could have done? Sometimes in Scotland the weather is just shite.
  12. Tonight’s @ScottishCup tie against @St_Johnstone_FC has been postponed and has been rescheduled for next Monday 7:45pm Kick Off.
  13. This could be a very important 8 days for Tommy in his career. We're not that far off the relegation pack and we've a slightly weakened squad, especially with the news that Easton is out for another month or two. Others in and around us have brought players in too. With 60-80 grand (?) per position at stake in the league perhaps now might be the time for Steve to push it a little to save us from getting dragged into the pack below? I guess it depends on how much faith he has in the existing squad to steer us clear.
  14. I went for a run this morning and at times I practically needed a boat. There were points where there was 3 or 4 inches of water coming from the snow melt and it was teaming down with rain. Utterly miserable out there. The only hope they have is if they managed to get all the snow off the pitch yesterday. If they didn't it's going to be saturated.
  15. Yesterday was a bit of a waste of time considering another 4 inches of snow dumped down today. Hope they covered the part we cleared By 11am we'd only cleared about 30% of the ground. No way we'd have got it cleared by 3pm and everyone knew it.
  16. Popped over to Cliftonhill to help clear the snow earlier. Unfortunately there was too much snow for 50 folk to clear but it was great to see folk digging in to help their local club. Not often you'll see the manager and the chairman digging snow for 3 hours to get a game on. Great folk who love their club. Few Saints fans turned up as well which was nice to see. The grass under the snow was nice and soft and the lads there reckon the drainage at Cliftonhill is excellent. We've cleared about 30% of the snow and targeted the worst draining areas so hopefully should be fine for Tuesday with the thaw.
  17. Two wingers? Would be happier with a central midfielder and a winger but at least Tommy seems confident about getting 2 or 3 in.
  18. Have we sold our allocation? I need another ticket but not looking like it'll be on so not sure I'll bother.
  19. McGrandles was a really well thought of player at Falkirk. Be interesting to see how he's developed as a player since then.
  20. Moan moan moan. Whine whine whine. What happened to the jovial, likeable Tommy Wright? There is a doom and gloom around the place and crap digs like this every week in the media aren't helping. Is it impacting the players? There certainly isn't the same amount of fight/belief/discipline about the team lately.
  21. Im also in the camp that if i didn't have a season ticket i doubt I'd have gone to a few games this year. We've been rank at home for nearly 2 seasons. Our away form has been our saviour but it's gate receipts that pay the bills. Anyway, today. Usual poor defending between Ando and Foster. Rotten. Then Foster doing a foster, losing the plot. We also had a midfield standing off players for the first 45. Usual home tactics. 2nd half we were actually excellent. High press, quick, strong runs and lots of effort. Deserved a point for that but as per usual gave ourselves too much to do. Denny pass marks first half. Scougall, Spoony, Easton and Davidson all good second. Zander also had a great stop from Haber. Ah well, at least the Manager is happy.
  22. As fans of St Johnstone we're apparently not allowed to be negative so the only positive thing I can say about that performance is that Andos impersonation of a Brazilian playmaker at 3 or 4 points in the second half was about the only thing that even remotely entertained me. Oh, and my Pie was brilliant. Was that even a positive comment? Who knows. I'm also positive we were absolutely honking, again, at home.
  23. Great win. Not pretty but solid enough. Denny Johnstone looked quite good - surprised!
  24. Surprised to hear the crash happened at 12.45 as i hit the Kier roundabout at about 2pm and had heard nothing about it on the news or radio. If I'd known I'd have gone via the Kincardine bridge instead of the random single track road i ended up on north of Dunblane. I presumed it had just happened. When i passed the motorway i could see a dozen or so arctics but didnt see a line of cars on the actual A9.
