norwichsaint got a reaction from Balhousie Blue 1884 in Saints v Dundee Utd. 26/9/15
Just brilliant. For having put up with Utd fans believing they have some sort of superiority over the rest of Tayside and beyond, go feck yerself ! For all us 70s - 80s Saintees......oh how sweet!!

Agreed. To have that alternative threat going forward from open play, not only set pieces when Ando lumbers forward, is something to look forward to.
One today are he's here to stay, in folklore at least!! Go on son....

norwichsaint got a reaction from Pelosi in Atmosphere At Mcd....you're Having A Laugh!
Without doubt the bar has been raised and the best bit, it looks like it's there to stay. I didn't realise that a display had been arranged for today. It is great to see that this type of effort has been continued.
This effort is exactly what is needed and is what adds to the match day experience. It raises the profile of the club publicly and without doubt will entice along the footballing fan craving some 'atmosphere' as well as a game of football.
Long may it continue and, appreciating that those responsible have been well thanked through various posts already, I simply offer a massive 'here here' to those responsible for giving McD it's mojo back, or for finding it depending on your view point!
And to any sceptic or media person willing to suggest there's no atmosphere in Perth, roll along today. The East stand will lead the way.....

Just saw the highlights, it's the sort of goal you don't see often as a St Johnstone fan, both imposing physicality in the box and long range strikes don't seem to happen often with our club. It's a brilliant element to have especially when players like O'Halloran, Croft and Spooney can whip in the crosses.

norwichsaint reacted to Ali91 in St Johnstone V Celtic
Where to start? Celtic created absolutely nothing for 50 minutes, they had most of the ball but we were by far the most dangerous. First goal - bad pass by Easton puts Ando under pressure. Ando has to deal with it better though and he is the one who needs to take the blame for it, he will know that, it happens. We then should have had a penalty, blatantly obvious by the reactions of the players that it was a penalty and looked like one at the time anyway. Then THAT decision. Absolutely horrendous and makes you think what is the ****ing point of playing these bigots? Absolute joke. Mannus made a mistake, bla ****ing bla, who cares, games gone because of a shocking referring display by then anyway.

Maclean's an awesome wind up merchant too. This picture was taken in injury time of a Torquay vs Oxford match. Oxford (who he was playing for) had just scored a 91st minute goal and this is what our Steven did to waste time. Check the looks on the faces on the bench behind him.

I believe our best formation is 4 5 1 which changes to 4 3 3 when attacking we played it at Ibrox in the semi and second half last Thursday against Lucern. With the size of our squad in my opinion the only choice TW has to make is which two from the three Wotherspoon O'Halloran or Croft. We were caught out by Lucern overloading their mid field and I belive in Europe we will very rarely play against more than 1 up front and which means if we play 4 4 2 our 4 in midfield will be over run by that teams 5 as Lucern showed in both legs.
My team would be
Mannus
MIllar McKay Wright Easton
O'Halloran Brown Wotherspoon Miller May
McLean
I would play O'Hallorn in the first leg as we need take a lead into the second leg where I would swap and play Croft. Others may disagree and suggest a goaless draw is a good home result and therefore play Croft

norwichsaint got a reaction from essexsaint in "come On U Saaaaaaaints" Can We Do More Than Three In A Row?
After the choreography of cup final and last week, I get the feeling this Thursday will be back to good auld fashioned sing yer heart oot for the boys, for two choruses only, of whatever comes to mind.......the Scottish way! Simple and less effective than our European counterparts, but we've been happy with it for the last few decades so it'll do a while longer!
Until I receive a personal invite in a gold crested envelope from bigstu, I'm no playing!! Ha, kidding bigstu.......but trumpet is safely locked away for the Europa Cup Final!
If we are going back to the 'make it up as we go along' approach then the most simple and effective thing I can think to do is to do a scarf twirl just before teams come out.
If I do hear a 'come on ye saints', I promise to keep going for three rounds minimum!!

FFS I logon to read the match thread for one of our biggest games ever and you're all talking about feckin reserved season ticket seats. GET A GRIP!

norwichsaint reacted to Cagey in St Johnstone V Spartak Trnava 31St July
I am a s,ticket holder but don't expect to get my seat if its a cash gate. If it is availible I will sit i n ir but if someone in it IS will find another one. Not rocket science.

norwichsaint reacted to Lt. Col Kojak Slaphead II in St Johnstone V Spartak Trnava 31St July
Of course, although its never going to be an issue for me as more often or not I dont actually get to take my seat until about 20 / 30 minutes into the game anyway.
-
norwichsaint got a reaction from Born2Bru in St Johnstone V Spartak Trnava 31St July
Paying for preference, if a seat is just a seat then why different price for differing parts of the ground? Preferred view, I hate being too near pitch. Away from idiots, which is less likely given this arrangement granted. I don't think you can argue with someone who has shown financial commitment to club.
I assume you'll gladly move if you're sitting in a seat marked reserved, given a seat is a seat......

norwichsaint got a reaction from Pictdownunder in St Johnstone V Spartak Trnava 31St July
From what I have read we have a real chance to go one better than last year.
The anticipation of reaching the first round proper should take care of pre-match build up and entice a similar crowd back through the gates this Thursday.
To those fans considering giving it a miss on the basis it is the first leg or last Thur can't be beaten, imagine how gutted you'll be if it's the last European venture for another 20 years or so. Just saying....!
Let's not take this experience for granted. Can you imagine the excitement if we get ourselves past Trnava and then just one team away from the group stages.......
So, same crowd and atmosphere please and for me, same team to start......
