THE LARK SAINT
Well as i said in earlier post that was some day,Well done to the young team football wise, did very well to get to the Plate Knock out stages semi-final,losing to the eventual winners is very good. The young lads (virgins ) seemed to get what it was all about very quickly too, and really entered into the spirit of things at night. For a wee 5 minute spell after the young guns were knocked out of the cup proper i feared a repeat of last years shenanigans, but thankfully it blew over as quick as it started and there was none of the crap that ruined it for me last year.As for the older team, what a great bunch of guys , both on and off the pitch, football wise we did not do to well but everyone just shook each others hand and moved on to the next game, even when i conceded 8 goals in one game there was no slagging and stuff like that, which made for a very enjoyable days football, and really enjoyed playing(even though im old, crap and past it) but when it comes to the sixes it matters not a jot!! and i lapped it up.Well done to all the Old team for making it fun.well done to the young team also for reaching the plate semi and by the looks of it enjoying it too.Now to night time. One of the reasons Saints teams keep getting invited back is our attitude to the evening event and the fact we stay till the end and have a ball, while others fcuk off at 8pm , something that will NEVER happen to us as long as im around and christ is it worth it!!I look forward to the sixes year after year and it is one, if not THE best night in my social calender. But this year had a little extra, from the moment i saw the lads troop back into the social club in plenty time for the evenings shenanigas, all fed and happy , the stress from last year was wiped out in an instant as the song says i knew it was "gonna be a good night"So to add to my delight was the return of the legend that is Helen the DJ, and as soon as i saw her i went to Dave and said to him ,"put my drinks in the corner of the table , You want see much of me sitting down in a bit"Que Helen with "good evening and welcome , its great to be back at the QP sixes"!!And the sound of "One Step beyond" and i was off!!!even dancing to some crazy young stuff at one point!!Fantastic to look about at the end and see all ther young lads up on the floor, having a ball!!Well done lads!! everyone of you welcome back next year and first on the list!! it will be MEGA !!25TH Anniversary of the 6s, cannae really believe its been that but hey ho roll on!!Cheers Guys !!Well done!!our reputation goes on and on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
