SingaporeSaint
Did you know that Moncrieff Tunnel was bombed by the Germans during the Second World War. The belief was that the German bombers thought it was in fact Perth Railway Station as they could see the trains going in and out at either end. Wish i was Joe McGurn
If u come up the old bridge of earn road towards perth at craigend you see a field with pigs in it. Also in that field is a round concrete cylinder, that is the tunnels chimney, used to allow the steam to escape the tunnel when steam was the locomotive in use. When going through the tunnel now u see the light coming down it to this day.

When going through the tunnel now u see the light coming down it to this day. I had heard there were three such chimneys although I've never spotted one. A quick look at the OS map for that area shows one item over the tunnel marked as an air shaft with two more identical markings further south.
